Hi Everybody!
It's weekend - enjoy!
Yesterday was Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd, where we show posts from previous times. Yesterday - Thursday - I was busy catching up on Tuesday, so today - Saturday -I am showing my 2nd of the 2nd on the 3rd, but better late than never!
I am sharing the pictures from some of the posts published in 2016 for a challenge by AJJ where light was the theme. We all need light in these dark and wintry days:
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Happy Happy Weekend! I love the stars and moon one the best. That's how I view things. Aim for it and enjoy the ride, even if I don't hit the goal. Cheers and boogie boogie.
ReplyDeleteThanksy Ivy, that's the spirit - enjoy the ride!
DeleteFABulous projects Valerie, my favourite, if I was to choose, has to be the moon in the man, I find that stimulating and fascinating..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Thanks Chrissy, glad you like it, it's one of my faves, too!
DeleteThis is wonderful, Valerie! Every image is illuminated with glowing, vibrant light. I particularly love the image of the head with the stars and the sickle moon, because of its composition which pulls you round and round the sunburst inside the head. I am a sucker for a powerful composition! Happy weekend ~ May it be filled with luminous, uplifting light
ReplyDeleteThanks louise, glad you like this one, light is so important for us all just now!
DeleteI remember these. It's great to see them again. And you are right how dark it is, literally, so early at this time of year. And there seems to be a lot of dark things going on in the world too, so nice pick. Have a great weekend Valerie. I hope you have some sun. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, we all need light just now! Hugs!

DeleteHi Val, good morning! Love these pieces, and there is darkness all around us just now. Great theme. Enjoy your weekend, hugs from us all, Sarah 😚🤗
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah. yes, there is really darkness all around us just now. Hugs to you all!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie: Great pieces. The daylight is no doubt the favourite time for most people, but there are attractions to the hours of darkness too, and all is not sinister when the sun goes down. A warm, moonlit night in spring is a joy. I have spent countless happy hours searching through forests after dark, looking for the elusive creatures of the night. The biggest challenge is not to get lost by straying too far from established paths. It's hard not to follow a nocturnal creature that suddenly shows itself, and of course it has no trouble negotiating its way through the trees. I am sure that I have been a little foolhardy at times, but have nevertheless avoided catastrophes. I remember once in Costa Rica looking for owls at night, when my local companion casually said, "keep an eye out for snakes." We were in an area where Fer de Lance was quite common! And then there are those dark nights, in the days of my well-spent youth, when I could venture into the dark with a girl, and what happened then shall remain my secrets and fond memories forever! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteOh David, now you've got me puzzled trying to fathom out what you did with pretty girls in the dark....You seem to have enjoyed it anyway if you haven't forgotten it by now! I used to love being out in the dark andx going for long, nocturnal walks with my dog. For Scruffy it was very exciting to be out at night, I'm sure lots of little creatures were out and about, too. Owls are good, but snakes - no thanks! These days I stay home when it's dark, how boring my life has become! Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
DeleteGood morning, gorgeous art Valerie, hugs
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, thanks!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteI especially love the top one... the face is intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, have a great weekend!
DeleteI don't know why it seems to get darker so much earlier in the day this year. At least it's only a couple of weeks or so to the Solstice.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the Solstice, too, it's my birthday! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteNothing like morning sunshine.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe

I really LOVE your look back, Valerie. This is a beautiful second look. One of my favorites is STILL that photo and quote from Desmond Tutu I loved it the first time around and I still love it. These are all wonderful, though. The cup of light is great and of course, your heads always make me smile. Thanks for sharing your beautiful second look this month, dear.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely look back.
