Hi Everybody!
It's cold here and getting colder, I need a hot-water bottle to warm by bed and my feet each night, and if it gets even colder then I will need 2 hot-water bottles. Or perhaps 3....
Today I have another snowy piece for Jo's snowy winter challenge at AJJ. This is a hybrid piece put together using 2 photos and some digital elements:
And for Nicole's Friday Face Off (FFO) I am showing some of the faces made during the Lifebook sessions and free lessons from other artists:
And I am also linking to Gillena's Friday art fun.
And some thinkies / funnies:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I never done a face and or portrait, actual they scare me. Maybe I should challenge my self and give it a try. Who know how it will turn out.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Faces are easy, just give it a try! Happy Friday!
DeleteAwesome set of faces Vj !
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashok, much appreciated!
DeleteWonderful set of your art work Valerie. Love the horse looking over the wall and the mouse in the hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, have a great weekend, hugs!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! It's Friday, hurrah! The kids are all going to my sister's. so I will have a quiet weekend to catch up on everything. Love your amazing art show again, just wonderful! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, have a fantastic weekend, enjoy the peace ad quiet! Hugs!
DeleteSome really nice faces Valerie. Luv the rhyme and wintry piece too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday. Thank you for linking to Art For Fun Friday.
Muchđlove
Thanks Gillena, I learnt that rhyme at school, many years ago!
DeleteSuper collection of faces from LifeBook! Sooooo much colder here now too. I bought an electric blanket. Have a great weekend, Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb! Enjoy your electric blanket, stay warm! Hugs!
DeleteYour poem is beautiful and that child looks really cold as she lights the darkness. This is a fabulous entry for Jo's theme at AJJ and I love that you used your own photos.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love your faces. They are all so different, too. It shows you were inspired by each teacher in the taster series.
I love your thinkies. I remember your AJJ theme "when one door closes, another opens." I saw something yesterday you would like. When one door closes, another opens, when another door opens, etc. The joke was this was an advent calendar, but I can't find where I got it. Maybe Christine, but I simply don't remember. Stress affects my memory (recall). Have a super Friday, dear and thanks for linking me.
Thanks Elizabeth. I love working with my own photos, it's a great challenge to do new things and experiment. And I have lots of photos to play with! Try to take things easy! Hugs, Valerie
DeleteThat is quite an array of faces, Valerie, proof that your art classes produced good results. I had not heard of hot water bottles in years! I was about to ask if you can still buy them, but if you have them the answer is obviously, "Yes". When I was a kid we sometimes used one and also wrapped a hot brick in a cloth and used that to warm the bed. These days I seem to stay toasty and warm, and we keep our room temperature pretty modest too. We have a good blanket and a quilt on the bed so that doubtless helps. Two people in a bed keeps it warmer than one too. See, there's the answer - invite a man and you'll be as warm as can be! I am always pleased to furnish good advice! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good advice, now all I need to do is to find a man to cuddle and keep warm with! You always have the best suggestions! Hot water bottled are old fashioned here, too, but you can still buy them. And mine all have pretty covers like pullovers! I have an electric blanket, too, but prefer my hot water bottles which I can cuddle. Perhaps I could pin an ad in the local supermarket to look for a man intead of my hot water bottle! But perhaps I'll just stick to my old fashioned bed warmers! Big hugs! xx
DeleteThat's a lovely hybrid journal page. I love the delicate feel of the frost you added. Our winter is arriving late for us here, but it's been chilly. They say that by the end of next week there will be a big weather change, so I am guessing it means snow. We've had dustings, but nothing substantial yet. And that's a great collection of faces. It is fun to see them again. And I like your thinkies/funnies. You always find good ones. Happy FRiday and start to your weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, ❄️❄️ we have to expect cold weather in winter, I would prefer it warmer! Glad you like the faces and funnies. Hugs!
DeleteI've been taking a microwave beanbag to bed with me for a foot warmer too. And we don't even have snow yet (coming today --which reminds me, I need to get out early before it hits). I like your cow and other faces! Have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteCold feet are not nice! Have a great weekend đ.
DeleteI love the cow. I remember years ago when I took lots of photos of cows in the field that bordered a friend's property.
ReplyDeleteCows always have such beautiful eyes!
DeleteWow that first piece is dynamic. You know I love the cow painting best LOL all of your faces are just beautiful. I put a heating pad in bed with me at night. I really dislike being cold. Thank you for sharing with FFO. Have a lovely day today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole. I hate being cold, too. Have a great weekend!
DeleteYour collection of colorful faces is really nice. A couple are really different from your usual ones!
ReplyDeletebest… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Thanks Mae, have a great weekend!
DeleteBeautiful art Valerie, and great to see those faces again.
ReplyDeleteIt's been very icy here the last two days, and snow is forecast for next week. I'm wearing multiple layers :D
Thanks Alison. It's ❄️ winter, we need to keep warm! Hugs!
DeleteHi Val,love all those wonderful faces, good to see them all together. Have a great weekend, hugs, Martha
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha, enjoy your weekend! Hugs!
DeleteWe're expecting a high today of 61F. We're forgetting what cold feels like. Your snowy scenes may be as close to snow as I get, so thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send you a load of cold with snow and frost!
DeleteWonderful faces and I love the cow, he is awesome, my daughter has a zebra like that in her foyer, have a wonderful weekend and stay warm,
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Thanks Chrissy, I would like to make a larger version of the cow when I have time! Hugs!
DeleteWhat fabulous pieces Valerie, I love that cow! I'm all for opening random cupboards and eating the contents too lol. Take care and have a wonderful weekend (try and stay warm) Sue xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue, there should be more in the c upboards than in the calendars!
DeleteLoved all the art you've shared today.
ReplyDeleteKeep as warm as you can and have a good weekend.
All the best Jan
Thanks Jan, you have a great weekened, too!
DeleteI love your page and the faces are quite amazing. I still have two hot water bottles from Germany and sometimes I still use them. I don't really liketo be cold, but we keep our room temperature quite moderate, so I pull on a sweater or a warm cardigan and warm socks that I knited. Our bedroom is always quite cool since we both don't like to sleep in warm rooms - I sleep under two blankets in the winter. Have a lovely weekend, Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carola. Glad you still have your hot water bottles! I don't like a warm bed room either. Have a great weekend! Hugs!
DeleteGreat thinkies/funnies you have for us today and I must say I do like the journal page you have for us. It's a lovely picture of darkness and light, you have captured it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI use a gel bottle for my back when it is bad and it gets used in bed for my feet as well, well the one I have in case the other ever gives up. So two in total. I have such poor circulation my feet are always cold.
Take care
Hugs, Neet xx
Thanks Neet! I always have cold hands and feet, too, and I need my bed warmers! Have a great weekend đđ
DeleteLove this page, especially as you have used your own photos. I love the little verse. Your faces are all so good. I think I've got the wrong kind of advent calendar! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, have a great weekend, hugs!

DeleteSuch a beautiful page! Your snowy winter scene looks amazing, I love the edging of snowflakes with the wreath and pretty vintage image đ. The way you captured the light from the lantern is amazing. Such great seasonal funnies too. Sorry I'm so late visiting you, I was away visiting family last week and I'm just catching up now. Take care and happy wishes! Hugs Jo x
