Thursday/Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well!

Today I have an A3 piece to share  that I made in the creative therapy at the clinic. We had to choose three cards with different words and then create something to show the meaning of the words. I chose Balance, Bewegung (movement) and Ruhe (quiet). I used stencils for the ballerina and circles. I used pink and black, and sponged the background with diluted pink.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

And I made a digitally altered version for Sheila's single flower challenge at AJJ:

The journal page fits well to Rain's TAD theme, movement / motion. And I have some photos, too:

These photos were accidentally taken while adjusting my camera on the balcony one evening:

And I always love the movement of the moon and clouds:

I re-arranged my flowers this week to make the best of those that were still good:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. You picked 3 good words. And you demonstrated them well. I would never have thought to put a ballerina on a ball. Great page Valerie. Your flowers are still looking nice also. Happy end of your week. Hugs-Erika

  7. What an amazing journal page. I love how you demonstrated it using the beautiful ballerina, too. This was great, but when you placed her on the flower, that made it even more special and just perfect for Sheila's theme.

Your flowers are still lovely. I especially like the tulips. I don't mind when they droop over the vase, but some people do. They suggest you put a pipe cleaner inside the stem to keep them upright. I never did, so don't know if it works or not.

  8. Great piece of artwork. Love the picture of the tulips and twigs where the outside bare trees become part of the arrangement. Glad you are settling back home now. Hugs, Deb

  10. The Creative Therapy class at the clinic sounds really good and inspiring with their ideas. Your dancer perfectly illustrates the words. Thanks very much for altering it to add to our Single Flower collection at AJJ.
Great photographs too - I like the boy on the bike and the bee about to go onto the flower.

  11. Good morning Your Esteemed Valeryness: A beautiful ballerina balancing on a ball seems perfect to me. The silence will be broken, of course, when she falls off the ball, hits the floor with a crash and shrieks in pain, but that's for later. In the meantime your art and the various pictures capture the theme remarkably well. I have to tell you that on Tuesday after I really started working on spring cleanup in the backyard, we were able to have lunch on the patio. The temperature climbed all the way up to nineteen degrees and it was just delightful to be out there enjoying our first nibble en plein air. And yesterday a new bird, an Eastern Towhee, visited our yard for the first time, so that was exciting. There is no prediction at all of a return to much colder weather, so I think spring has really arrived. Enjoy it while you may and as much as you are able. Hugs and kisses. David

    1. Hi David! If I tried to stand on a ball a big crash would definitely follow! Glad you had lunch on the patio. I would like to sit on my balcony, but it needs clearing up and cleaning before I can use it, and I don't have the energy yet. Soon! I just looked up the eastern towhee, it's pretty. The sun is shining here, so that's something! Have a great day, hugs to you both!

  32. I’m trying to make my way down to the bottom where the comment box is and I got stuck at David’s comment where the beautifully balanced ballerina is going to fall off that ball and crash. It struck me funny to read that. This was a nicely met challenge. I love the flower you digitally replaced the ball with. It won’t roll out of control and she won’t fall off. Ha! The flower gives the ballerina such a delicate look.

  37. All of the different angles of your dancer are perfect and I love the one with her dancing on the flower. You clearly have found balance in your life as it shows in your art. Your photography is supreme and LOL at the pictures your camera took on it's own. I am sure I have a few of those around. It is always a joy to visit you, Valerie ... Hoping all is well with you and have you been vaccinated yet? I have had my two shots and the time allotted for being safe is past. Still wearing a mask, but much less stress in my life. I hope I have or can achieve that balance that you have found in your life ...
