Hi Everybody!
Hope you all had a good weekend, and here's wishing us all a good and safe week!
Nicole Warrington put up a video on Friday with an idea for painting some simple pumpkins to make a journal page or whatever. I loved it, so sat down on Sunday morning and painted some pumpkins on an A4 sheet of paper:
I am linking to AJJ, Chris' challenge 'hold the line'
Then I cut them out:
And I used them for some autumnal tags, each 10" x 4":
I had lots of straw left over from last year so was able to use it here:
I made some more straw dollies, one for the tag and some others for decorations:
On Monday evening we always begin Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies who visit here:
In Ratingen last week I saw this shop window filled with cups, mugs and pots:
And i have some pretty wine labels to share:
And of course, my daily drug must be shown, too:
And some photos from my walks here:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely art with the pumpkin cutouts. Enjoyed your photos today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, have a good week, stay safe!
DeleteHappy Monday Wishes.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine, lovely art you've shared, I do like the pumpkin cut-outs.
Another super selection of photographs, those wine labels are colourful aren't they.
All the best Jan
Thanks Ha, have a great week!
DeleteI just LOVE the new header. It's that time of year! Your pumpkins have some great whimsey too them. I can tell you had fun drawing them. And they work fantastic with your tags. Those tags have a wonderful fall feel. And that window with all the mugs is really appealing. What a fun way to window shop. And nice wine labels too. I hope (although I am early) you have a fantastic T day Valerie. And happy start to the new week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, have a happy T Day, too, and a good and safe week!

ReplyDeleteHi Val, good morning, hope you have had a good sleep! LOVE those pumpkin. I will wtach the video with the littl'uns, I think they would have fun painting them, and Mum and I could help with the lines round them. Thanks for the idea. The tags you made are fabulous. I still have the straw dollies you made last year! Have a great start in the week, stay safe! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah! So glad you like the pumpkins. Have fun with the kiddies painting them, you just need ordinary water colours and some card or thickish paper. Have a great start in the new week, stay safe! Hugs to all!

ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha! Have a great week!
DeleteGood morning Valerie: You can hardly go wrong with pumpkins for a theme at this time of the year, nor in fact as food. By now we have usually had pumpkin pie as a dessert item and pumpkin soup for lunch, but this year so far we have had neither. The other day we had a nice surprise. Friends called to invite us for dinner, but said that since it was unwise to do it in person given the rise in Covid cases, they delivered it to our front door and we waved to each other. One day.....maybe.....we must hope, we can get back to normal, because this is certainly odd. Stay well and stay safe and keep enjoying your walks. Hugs from Canada, David
ReplyDeleteHi David, good that you have nice friends who brought you a dinner, that was a lovely thought. This always being alone is really getting to me just now, and not in a good way! I've just been cooking a pumpkin soup, that will feed me for the next couple of days. The heating here is still broken - they are working on it! I'm going to have a rest this afternoon, perhaps I will feel better after a sleep! Have a great day, look after yourself, hugs, Valerie
DeleteYou are such a talent Valerie x Creating your own pumpkins and straw dollies too x
ReplyDeleteI love your trio of tags and all the details, especially the lovely paper doll. Great photographs to xx Sending my best wishes
Annie xx
Thanks Anie, lovely to see you around again! Have a good week, stay safe!
DeleteSo so beautiful and the feel of autumn from your pumpkin piece is just so warm and wonderful! I love all the detail, including last year's hay! WOW, those Spanish wine bottles! My husband would go nuts! Beautiful tea cups, too - so sweet to visit your blog, I feel like I'm home :) Hugs! x0
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly, I love this season and it's fun making tags etc for it. Have a wonderful week, stay safe!
DeleteYour pumpkins, tags, and straw dollies are wonderful. Happy polka-dot mugs in the shop window. The tea for one cups are large enough to take a tea bath! You made me laugh with your drug of choice. 🎃 I enjoyed the walk around town and the awesome sky photos. Have a beautiful day
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ! A tea-bath would probably be good for the skin! But I'll stick to my coffee! Stay safe!
DeleteSo cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Regina, much appreciated, have a great week!
DeleteNice use of straw and cut outs in your art. Love the coffee, too. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks Glenda! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure where to begin, really. I love the new header you created. It's that time of year.
ReplyDeleteLast year, I created a spread with white and orange pumpkins. I got mine on the internet and colored them, cut them out and had about 100 by the time it was over. I like yours so much better, because yours are artistic and artsy. And of course, they are wonderful linked to Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
When I was small, my grandmother made a ton of those little angels out of yarn. One year, we hung tons of them all over the Christmas tree. I still have a couple of them somewhere. I like how you created yours out of straw. That was clever. Each of those tags was awesome and each was so different, too.
I think my favorite photos today are the bikes. We don't see those here, even downtown. Of course, I adore the window with the cups and tea and coffee pots. Lovely and colorful. So glad you had a chance to get out and enjoy a cup of your favorite drink. As if I didn't know what it was, of course. Thanks for sharing your pumpkins, your tags, your walk, the shop filled with tea and coffee cups and pots, and your cappuccino with us for T this almost Tuesday. See you at T, dear.
Thanks E! I Love playing with Pumpkins and made pumpkin soup today, too. We always made straw dollies at school, it must have originally been a pagan harvest custom. See you later at T Tuesday!
DeleteLove your Autumnal themed tags Valerie, the painted pumpkins look great. Lovely photos and the shop with the pottery display in the window looks interesting.
