Hi Everybody!
Hope all is well with you and yours. It's still very hot and humid here, the thermometer in my apartment is telling me that it's 34° inside and that's not a temperature conducive to working or even sleeping. It looks like we will have a storm later, so hope it cools off a bit. If I had wings, I would fly off somewhere else just now....
I have a second tag for Sandie's challenge at Tag Tuesday - wings. I made a hybrid tag combining various photos of sunrise and birds, taken from my balcony or on my walks and superimposed with some text and music notes:
And I am sharing another Van Gogh knock off, made in my A3 journal and painted with acrylics. I find his style of panting inspiring and relaxing:
This is van Gogh's 'boots' painting:
This is my version, showing my fave boots:
Blue skies and fluffy clouds:
The Church decorated for a festival:
And a flea market along the market in our little town:
These photos were taken by Harry in the Altstadt of Düsseldorf:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Oh wow, those photos are amazing! The sky, that building with the windows, oh my gosh they’re all so beautiful. Your tag is great and the quote fits so perfectly, your van bough knock offs are beautiful and I know exactly what you mean how relaxing it is to paint in that style, the rhythmic circles and swirls are very calming, I must say I prefer your boot painting than his lol, it’s really cool!
ReplyDeleteBlue skies and fluffy clouds are nice except when it is really hot and humid. Hope you get your storm to cool off. It's not my favorite weather either. And wow. You can really do a Van Gogh knock off and make it your own. Your paintings are fantastic Valerie! happy mid-week. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHi Val, this is another fantastic post. Love the tag made from your own photos, just beautiful. Sorry it's so hot for you, especially indoors our place is cooler inside. Love the van Gogh knock-offs, they're both great, and I know those boots! Wonderful photos, too, Harry also has a good eye for photos. Keep cool! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a lively place! People enjoying themselves with plenty to see and do :) I love the hot weather, but I hope you get a cool-down soon.
ReplyDeleteYour artwork is lovely. I like your Van Gogh style. Great flower and architecture photos. The boat on the river looks like a fire boat. Nice reflection photo.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a fire boat and was showing some tricks.
DeleteValerie, your tag is really pretty! I love the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteYour tag and Vincent style paintings are amazing. I would love your weather. We didn't have much of a Spring and Summer is still damp and cool. I love the brilliant blue skies especially reflected in the glass tower. Hope it cools down for you you. Send the heat and humidity this way!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could!
DeleteYour Van Gogh paintings are fantastic!!! Love all of your photos too.
ReplyDeleteI love the wings tag Valerie and your paintings look wonderful, I especially like 'your boots'. Lovely photos I do wish our weather would settle down and give us some blue skies and sunshine.

Piękne fotografie, piękne miejsca:)
ReplyDeleteLovely tag, beautiful Van Gogh interpretations, and the poppies look lovely, enjoyed all the photos today.
ReplyDeleteIts a fabulous wings tag Valerie and I really love your versions of the Van Gogh paintings.
ReplyDeleteI hope your boots are comfortable to wear, they look super.
Beautiful photo, the pink poppies are a lovely shade. Enjoy your sunshine even though its hot. It must be better than the rain we are getting here.
Yvonne xx
Your Van Gogh knock off is great. I was watching a great doc about how his sister in law saved his paintings and legacy after theo's death. Love all the photos too. Pink poppies always remind me of the only time I really saw one -- in Giverny.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent photos, great post in all of today's and a very interesting one too...xx
ReplyDeleteGoodness! Your temperatures are so warm - or should I say hot!
ReplyDeleteLove your interpretation of Van Gogh painting and I thoroughly enjoyed looking at your photographs, those poppies are a lovely colour.
Keep as cool as you can :)
All the best Jan
Love your tag and pieces. Those boots are awesome.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are dealing with the heat. Not fun. I bet you'd love to jump right into that picture of the water being sprayed from the boat.
The poppies are gorgeous.
Hugs
Definitely!!
DeleteAnother gorgeous Tag..I have a blackbird that sits on the hedge and sings it's little heart out every evening, never hear it in the mornings, just the evenings...xx
ReplyDeleteLove all those colors and pink poppies are so unique, at least in here, they are only red☺
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Try and stay cool.

That looks nice what you created with the different layers, great Tag. Your Van Gogh inspired pages look gorgeous, also the boots. If you walk a lot you need good shoes. Thaks for sharing all the nice photos with us, always a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteDear Greetings and big Hugs.
Sabine
You did such an amazing job on your pieces and tag.
ReplyDeleteIs today any cooler?
Hugs
Playing catch-up is a bit difficult, especially when I was gone for two days. That tag is SO you. I love that you use your own photos in your art.
ReplyDeleteYour van Gogh is amazing. Reminds me of Crows Over the Cornfields, which was jarring the first time I saw it. You certainly captured his style and design.
Your photos are wonderful and I especially like the poppies.
I really like that tag you created, it's very creative and beautiful, plus I really enjoyed seeing all those beautiful flowers you posted!
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll have a very pleasant day today!
It's hot here too - today outside +26 but we have air-to-air heat pump so we have comfortable temperature all year round...
ReplyDeleteYour art looks very Van Gogh - well done!!!
Happy Midsummer!
Another lovely post, it certainly is jot for you! Today we have here about 10 deg C and rain! Great art, love the tag you have made, the poppies look good too. Dusseldorf is a wonderful city to visit.
ReplyDeleteWow. Where to begin, where to begin... First off, I LOVE your tag. With a combination of sunrises and birds, how can you possibly miss? And holy moley, your Van Gogh knock-offs are fabulous. You're a true artist in your own right, lady. (Others should be doing knock-offs of YOUR stuff!) Lastly, your photos. Seeing them isn't nearly as good as being there, but it's darned close. Thanks for sharing. Closest I've ever been to Germany is when we celebrated our anniversary in Helen, a Bavarian-style town in north Georgia. I guess you could call it a... knock-off. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend.
Thanks! The thought of a Bavarian town in Georgia made me smile!
DeleteMarvellous artwork and photos! I especially love the flying birds in your header!
ReplyDeleteI got lucky and was standing outside when a flock of cranes flew over, I was so excited.

Hello Dear Valerie, it's so lovely to catch up with you once more. Your humidity would be uncomfortable, I too hope it has gone... I never like weather like that.
ReplyDeleteI have to say how much I admire your "Song of the Birds" tag. It would be one of my very favourites of all your works - so uplifting and special.
You have truly inspired me to have a go at painting in Van Gogh's style and your boots version is wonderful. You had a lot of fun.
The pink in those sweet poppies is eyecatching.
Seeing life in your town is always lovely - the flea market looks great. It's really nice to see everyone out enjoying themselves.
Cheers for now, hugs xx
Wonderful creations, those Van Gogh spin offs look absolutely amazing, your boots one is fun on top of being clever! Gorgeous photos too!
ReplyDelete34 degrees is definitely too hot for comfort, specially if it does not cool down at night.... Here like usual, nothing but grey skies and cool weather, I have forgotten what summer should be like....we have not seen any of it so far this year:o(
Happy Sunday
Oh your weather sounds awful, and I think there's more to come. It's been quite warm here today, but no sunshine, and of course it's raining again now. Gorgeous artwork as always today, I always love anything with birds, and your Van Gogh pieces are amazing. We have lots of poppies out here too, such uplifting little flowers. Have a very happy week, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a cool, fun filled weekend.
ReplyDeleteHugs
I adore your Van Gogh "knock off." And those Boots are wonderful! As always your photography is exquisite. Happy PPF!
