T stands for a peacock on a Table

Hi Everybody!

This weekend went by too quickly. We had good weather, hot and sunny, and I was out most of the time. In the night the promised thunder-storms started, so it's warm, wet, dark and windy today.

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday. This time I am hosting and my theme is beverages.  Any sort of drink, cup, glass, tea-pot, coffee-pot, kettle etc would make a good tag.  Think milk shakes, summer cocktails, whatever you like drinking. Tags of all formats are welcome, and as always, you have 2 weeks to join us.

I started off with a coffee tag - what else? This is definitely my fave beverage. I made a stamped and collaged card. The background was repeatedly stamped with the words 'Is there really a life before coffee' using Espresso ink from Ranger on a sprayed card. I matted the tag with brown and blue and rounded the edges. The bird was printed onto canvas and cut from a Gecko Galz image. The little tea-cups were made using a freebie stamp which was painted and fussy cut. The milk-foam was made with puff paint. The little blue cup is a button.
Hope to see lots of you joining in:

I chose this theme as it fits well to Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday. Last Wednesday we revisited the medieval moated castle of which I showed some pics a couple of weeks back.

This time we went into the inner courtyard where there is a cafe/restaurant with a great selection of drinks and food. My coffee was served on a little wooden tray with a morsel of chocolate cake, Harry drank water:

Going through the old gate-house to the courtyard:

And inside we discovered this beautiful peacock who delighted everybody with his posing:

This figure was sitting alone on a bench, so we kept him company:

A pleasant place to sit:

Posing on the table:

We also spent a lot of time looking round the park, walking in the woods and exploring the neighbourhood, but I will save those pics for another time.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. I am loving the fabulous coffee tag you made for your new challenge theme Valerie, the small cups and saucers must have taken ages to cut out.

    1. I cut them out years back when I made a similar tag, as I was intending to make a second one - which I have just done. The miracle is that I actually found the cut-outs when I needed them!

  4. Fabulous tag, Valerie. The puff paint foam is the perfect touch. You can imagine the huge grin on my face at seeing your beautiful peacocks, because I had the thrill of petting one in eco-park in Cartegena, Columbia.

    Happy T-day! Eileen xx

  5. That coffee tag is perfect and I know it's something you (and I) can't live without. You have made it really great, too. I'll gladly join you and Harry for coffee. Yours looks even better with that tiny bite of cake. Presentation is everything! Thanks for sharing both your tag and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.

I LOVE your wonderful photos of your walk. That peacock is beautiful, and I was so impressed it stayed close. I also enjoyed seeing you two with the man on the bench. A nice tree sculpture. What a great day you must have had, too.

  15. Oh your tag is wonderful Valerie! That theme is just up your street! (and ours at the T-party). I love the puffy paint. I'd never seen that.
The moat castle is beautiful. I smiled at the morsel of chocolate cake with your coffee. Such a nice touch, as is the glass of water.
The flowers and garden are beautiful. And the peacock strutted his stuff alright. At the first photos I was saying out loud: turn round lovely boy! And sure enough there he was in all his glory!
I like the figure on the bench, and also the figure under the roses (i.e. you!).
    Happy T-Day,
