Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well. Today has been very sunny, with blue skies - but very cold and windy. That didn't stop me from going back to Hofgarten this morning to visit the black swans again, and now there are 4 eggs in their nest. I am sure I will be visiting a lot in the coming weeks!
Today I am sharing another A3 mixed media piece made at art group some weeks back. The background was painted with acrylics in yellow, pink and blue and then textured by stamping into it while it was still wet. I drew my heads using my home-made stencils and then filled them with a collage of Jane Davenport tissues and some stenciled spots and stars in bright colours. I stitched the edges and added my sentiment in the heart on the right hand side.
I am linking to Paint Party Friday and TIOT, use a stencil or 2.
A beautiful start to the day:
Working in an elevated position:
The king of the roost:
Afternoon walks:
Getting tied up in knots:
A dandelion clock:
Blossoms galore:
Morning gymnastics:
Resting:
Her partner kept bringing food, and they communicated with each other in soft squeaks:
Here they worked together to turn the eggs and clean the nest:
I will keep you updated on the progress.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I enjoy your nature photos, and the captions make me laugh :) Your dandelion closeup is a stunner!

ReplyDeleteToday I wanted to be a snow loving lady. It didn't go too well. Smile. But I always get excited to see your heads. This one is cool with those Jane Davenport images. And I hope you take lots of black swan photos for us. I can't wait to see the cygnets. I wonder if they shall be black or grey or some other color. Happy mid-week. Hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteYou're going to have fun watching those eggs then the babies:)
Love your piece.

A fabulous painting Valerie, love the heart quote.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, especially the ones of the Black Swans, how lucky to see them tending the eggs and cleaning the nest, your timing was just right.

Oh Valerie, this is just beautiful work of art - the art within the art! I love the wonder through the town - and the horse! How sweet to have the pups follow along for the trotting! I love the swans looking out for their eggs, too! Spring is in the air!
ReplyDeleteYes, and we all need spring.
DeleteI'm sorry I'm late visiting today. The sentiment "who do you want to be today?" is really quite appropriate. I want to be home with MY cats, not at Sally's with hers. This is already getting old and today it was so cold, I nearly froze to death getting there. Yesterday it was 86 F, today the high was 46 F. I love what's in your head, which is a great journal page.
ReplyDeleteI also loved seeing the beautiful black swans. So much fun to watch them. I laughed at the man on the "high wire." Beautiful photos today.
In the meantime I have learnt to say 'no' when I don't want to do things! It's important to do what makes us happy!
DeleteWonderful art and a lovely walk today. It is rain, rain, rain, cold, and windy here. Yes, please keep us updated on the black swans.
ReplyDeletefun art Valerie. Love all the nature photos-that rooster is something! How nice to be able to watch the swan family grow. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteThis pieces is speaking to me! Love the colors and the details! Your photography is delightful. Wish there was some sun here!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, your mixed media pieces are so wonderful. The color, the textures, the details. I love them so much! I hope you'll show us pics of the goslings when they hatch! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteOf course I will! It will be several weeks, though.
DeleteBeautiful artwork! The colours and design are wonderful and I love how you used your homemade stencil too - perfect 😁. A great A3 to start my visits off today Valerie, rather like my head yesterday which was definitely spinning after trying to set up a new mobile phone, syncing shut down everything as I struggled to remember passwords Grrrr!! I've got lots of catching up to do today. Your posts are always a calming start to the day as I feel like i've been on an early morning walk taking in the fresh air allowing the worries of the day to blow away. You really picked a great moment to catch the turning of the eggs in the nest. So sweet. Wishing you a super weekend, sorry i'm so late again but Thank you for your kind words and best wishes, it's been a difficult few weeks. Hugs Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey, I know what you have been going through, so don't worry! Off for my walk now!
