Hi Everybody!
It's the middle of the week already, time is flying by as always.
I am sharing an A3 mixed media page. The BG was brayered with acrylics in a mix of white, sky blue, pink and green - I needed some springlike colours to cheer myself through this icy cold weather we are having just now. The Banksi balloon girl, the birds and the hearts were stenciled using Archival ink. The floating feathers were stamped and water-coloured.
I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge, love is in the air, and to Simon Wednesday challenge, it must be love, and to That's Crafty, I heart you.
And on Friday I will link to Paint party Friday
The cold weather has at least given us blue skies and sunshine:
And if you're wondering about the neighbour's cat - well, he hasn't got one!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Another wonderful journal page, love the colours, really spring like. The sunrise photos are gorgeous, and I love the circuses in the snow. And that is a good one with your neighbour's cat! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeletelol- about the neighbor's cat!
ReplyDeleteLove your journal page. The colors, quote, and design is lovely. So true!
Your pictures are wonderful. Bringing some color and nature to us- which I love to see. Those purple blossoms are very hopeful! :)

ReplyDeleteWish we had some sun to ;O)) just grey grey grey and snow flakes great post this
ReplyDeleteWell, I was about to rave on and on about your wonderful piece with the balloon hearts -- and then I saw those marvelous crocuses in the snow. Very nice shot -- great lighting and I love the contrast of the lavender and the white. What a sign of spring! It will be awhile before I see some of those here so today I bought some in a pot! They'll have to keep me going for awhile!
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous piece Valerie and you really got me with that cat !!! I was scrolling through hoping to see it x Your photographs as always are stunning
ReplyDeleteTFS and best wishes

Beautiful piece Valerie - you certainly created a wonderful springlike background with a lovely glow.
ReplyDeleteNice photos - the skies always seem a lot bluer when its really cold - I think the cold weather is here for a while yet unfortunately.
Hope you're having a nice evening and keeping warm and snug.
Gill xx
Hello Valerie, beautiful artwork - I love it, so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteYour skies are gorgeous and the bird silhouettes as they sit on the tree are lovely. Also, those purple flowers peeking through the snow are so sweet.
Warm hugs xx
Hi Valerie love your mixed media page ,love those colours, well done my friend ,lol about the cat ,love your pics thankyou for sharing xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece Valerie, so happy, and I love the Banksy stencil. You have beautiful Spring flowers even if they are growing in the snow, and I think your neighbour should definitely get a cat xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful background colour for yoyr super page. We could do with more blue skies and hopefully springtime. Its frosty and grey here.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers looked lovely coming through the snow.
Yvonne xx
Love the Springy Art today, The colors remind me of warm sunshine. Which I'm longing to feel on my skin! Love all of the photos. You have some of the most amazing sunrises and I never get enough of the old ruins and river photos.
ReplyDeleteMaybe your neighbor should get a cat and then you could write about it :)
Carol
Love the colours on your page Valerie, a really lovely page! Wow those photos! I never see sunrises like that! We woke up to snow on Tuesday morning and last night was really cold - minus 6c! We are home now with proper walls!! Hugs,Chrisx
ReplyDeleteI love the floating feathers and the watercolor-ish background. Wonderful journal page Valerie!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page! It's cold in Toronto as well. Beautiful crocus popping out in your photo!
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece. The Valentine Balloons and the birds are truly flying free.
Those lavender flowers are beautiful in the snow, aren't they.
Guess what. I was at an art auction that included Peter Max's Umbrella Man. Yes I did think of you:)
I'll be back and posting Friday.
Wishing you a warm and colorful day.
Hugs,
We have a saying here that the snow is nature's fertilizer, and maybe all the green was helped by that snow. Good thing those crocus bulbs are pretty hardy. Loving those heart shaped balloons on such a luminescent sky. It's a cool page Valerie. :) Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteBrilliant and interesting post as always. The flowers are so beautiful.xx[aNNie]
ReplyDelete❤️
Love the blue of your journal page. I want to grab hold of a balloon and float away from this Winter weather. If only blue skies came with sunshine and warm temps. Poor little crocus hope they don't freeze. Won't see crocus here for another month or two.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I missed this. My sincere apologies, because I always love your art.
ReplyDeleteI simply ADORE this latest journal entry. I love the background because I am brayer challenged. You have mastered that background perfectly, and it DOES look like spring on your page.
I adored the crocuses and the shot of the castle with the rusty statue. It was a view I had not seen before. It made my day (oops, night!).
Oh my goodness Valerie! I thought those were real feathers till I read along further! How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou photos are lovely and I especially like the snow on the crocus! they say it has to snow 3 times on the crocus for spring to arrive! Let me know if that is true!
Happy weekend sweetie!
Hugs,Jackie
We already had 2 snowdumps so now we only need one more....

Such a gorgeous background you have created for this piece, Valerie. I love the way the colors relate to each other. And that little girl stencil is precious. I have never seen it before. I don't need any more stencils but I'd love to add one like that one to my collection.
