Hi Everybody!
Hope your week got off to a good start. It's very cold and frosty here, and is supposed to get more so, which doesn't make me happy, as the cold weather is not good for my aching bones and joints.
On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday
-Vintage-
As always, projects of all formats are welcome .You have 2 weeks to join us, and we are looking forward to seeing what you create. I made a hybrid piece using old family photos, showing my great Auntie Fanny, Erika, and my Mum holding me. The photo with me is the newest one dating back to 1947, the other 2 were both taken in 1918. I used some elements from Serif.
At Tag Tuesday you still have a week to link to Michele's challenge, use a quote.
I used Mr Bowler Hat again:
Today is also T stands for Tuesday at Elizabeth's blog, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang.
Last Wednesday I went for breakfast with N. We chose a small breakfast at Cafe Bazzar in the Altstadt of Düsseldorf. They had other breakfasts which were large enough to keep you going for a whole day! The cafe is rather large, and all tables were well filled with guests. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window.
The shelves reaching up to the ceiling were filled with old coffee grinders and coffee machines from various ages and styles:
My cappuccino:
N's Latte:
All drinks are served with a sugared almond:
We each got a plate with various cheeses, a slice of ham, an egg and a little edible cup of jam:
Bread, rolls and butter came in a separate basket. I took one roll home with me as it was too much:
The 2nd round of cappuccino:
And what about a coffee roaster like this?
This is a place to which I will surely pay a repeat visit!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Yay! I'm first today:)
ReplyDeleteYour piece is so purrfect for a family photo album. What a lovely remembrance.
Breakfast looks great. I'm going to have to get up and get a coffee and cookie after looking at these pictures.
What a coffee roaster, huh?
Wishing you sunshine for your bones and sparkle for your day.
Hugs
Thanks for the good wishes.

ReplyDeleteYou created such a lovely, family portrait, and your are just cute as a button. Love your little shoes. I bet the cafe smells heavenly. ReplyDeleteThe cafe you had breakfast in last week looks a super destination. The artwok on the wall, shelves filled with interesting things and an awesome grinding machine, I think I would have spent a long time just looking around. The breakfast you ordered looked delicious and the coffee, looked lovely as well.
Happy T day wishes Valerie.
Yvonne xx

You pack SO much into your T day posts, Valerie, I don't even know where to begin. Your vintage page is fabulous, and I love the photo of you and your mother. Nice homage to your other family members, too.
ReplyDeleteThe tag is really different and the colors are WOW.
But of course, that cafe with the great atmosphere is simply out of this world. I was SO impressed with the various coffee grinders and the roaster, which looked well used. And then, the breakfast and bread. LOVED the look of that bread. I also liked seeing the various metal signs that livened up the place, but the two cappuccinos were what made me want to visit there. It's a wonderful place and I look forward to seeing you visit there again.
Thanks for sharing your art, your breakfast, and your two cappuccinos with us for T this Tuesday.
Full of vintagia beauty and that coffee, mmmmm, it sure looks good.

ReplyDeleteThe world is crazy indeed.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
We've got clouds and highs in the 70s, but cooler weather will return next week. That cafe looks nice, and the bread! Such a bright place, and a seat by a window would be a treat. I love how they've decorated it with vintage coffee-related items. Definitely a place to go back to :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely vintage hybrid piece! I like it that you have used photos from your family.
ReplyDeleteThat breakfast place looks great. The breakfast looks delicious, but it is the decor that caught my attention. So much to look at! I love all the coffee makes and grinders. (incl the big one) and loved the advertising plaques on the wall. Cafe Hag, I remember that one. And a foreign one advertising chicory coffee (so popular in Italy). Yes, I can imagine you would want to go back there.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Just love old photographs. I hate to see them at craft shows etc... as that means soemewhere along the way they got separated from their people.. I tend to buy them just for that reason.. They need to belong to someone not lost to time.... lol silly.. What a great cafe! We stayed at a great Inn in Denmark for a few days and every morning for breakfast was this great feast of bread/rolls and meats and cheeses... YUM! Thats some coffee roaster!!! Happy happy T day!! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the sugared almond with the cappuccino.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great one.
Hugs
Sooo schön deine Vintageseite mit all den schönen alten Fotos, aber auch das Tag gefällt mir gut. Deine Fotostrecke mit dem netten Cafe und dem lecker aussehenden Frühstück macht sofort Lust da mal hinzugehen.
