Vintage

Hi Everybody!
We're enjoying a sunny Sunday here, so hope you are
having a good weekend, too.

At Go Tag Thursday the theme is vintage. I started by layering
various pieces of card-stock and a strip of lace and
then sewing them together with the machine. The floral
patterned card was cut with a Martha Stewart punch.
I used a Tim Holtz bronze frame with a photo of my dear
Erika as a little girl. She always loved all things pink, pretty and
with lace, and would have loved this tag made in her honour.
I added some fabric leaves and flowers together with a little
bundle of art grass tied with some fibres. The sentiment
was one of the lovely pieces that dear Gill sent me.

Before the embellishments were added:

Beautiful spring:

The farmers are busy on the fields:

The pigeons wait in the tree till they can't see me and then swoop
down to cause havoc on my balcony:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. That's such a very pretty tag, Valerie, and I like it before the embellis were added too, although it did need the embellis.
Your photos show Springtime at its best, I do like the photo of the tractor on the bare field with the bridge and river in the background, it's a masterpiece.
I've got a soft spot for these wood pigeons, they are such gentle birds.

  3. Ein zauberhaftes Tag mit so wunderbaren Details, liebe Valerie! Der Hintergrund mit dieser feinen Spitze allein ist schon sehenswerter ... aber mit liebevollen Verzeirungen ist es einfach wunderschön!

  6. Love the tag!!! So many interesting layers and details. Your Spring blooms are beautiful and it's good to see the farmers at work. We've been blessed with rain this past week so the fields and my garden are too wet to work in . I don't think anyone is complaining to much though.:)

  10. This is a fabulous tag, Valerie. I always love it when you sew, and I love it even more when you use Erika in your art. You certainly know how to layer a tag!

The machinery in the fields is wonderful. I like how you showed the other side of the river, too. Lot's of space between houses. Spring is truly in your world right now.

  18. Your tag is gorgeous Valerie. I love the effect off punching the edges of that beautiful vintage style paper you used. And I love seeing all the blooms too.We had a gorgeous day with so much melt that I actually finally noticed our tree buds are starting to get bigger. You'll be having summer when we just get our spring. Hope the week starts off in a good way. Hugs-Erika

  19. Hi Valerie, your photos are stunning and the tag is beautiful. You are really inspiring me to have a go at being creative.
We are getting lots of rain interspersed with beautiful spring sunshine. As I finished typing that I glanced out of the window and noticed a blossom tree in a neighbour's garden, it is covered in flowers and looks just like a fluffy white cloud. Now where is my camera when I need it?
    Have a sunny week, Barbara

  25. I am sure that Erika would be pleased with how you made this beautiful tag! It's great to see all the Spring activities and signs of new growth! We had an early morning visit from a Woodpigeon the other day - and as for the Jackdaws - they are helping themselves to the bird feeders and trying to lift them off the branches!!! Hugs, Chrisx

Great photos, love how in one photo the tractor looks like he has the tree in his bucket on the front of his tractor, great shot.
I have a lot of Wood Pigeons here I love watching them, they nest in the conifer hedge and it looks like one of the mummas is on her second clutch of eggs already this year..her first baby has flown already...xx

  29. Gorgeous tag and such a lovely photo of Erika - and that frame is just the perfect shape too.
Great photos too - like seeing the wood pigeons. We have a magpie visiting for the last few days collecting long pieces of twigs for nesting. I've been watching it weaving its nest in a distant tree... I think it might have started again as some conifer trees next door to it were felled on Friday and I think it had been building a nest there.
