Hi Everybody!
Here's wishing us all a happy weekend. We've had heavy storms and too much rain here, but we have to take it as it comes, and I know that other places always get hit much worse.
I made this piece a few weeks back, ( Acrylics on A3 paper) and never got round to showing it. It is meant for Wendy's challenge, above us only sky at AJJ - and the sky is where the birds can fly free:
And some thinkies /funnies:
Another of David Zinn's wonderful and clever chalk drawings:
Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
Here in the UK some areas have had so much rain and apparently just recently a rural area in Wales experienced a small earthquake! I do not believe there were any injuries.
ReplyDeleteI do like your lovely green art, and David Zinns chalk drawing is so good :)
Have a good weekend.
All the best Jan

I love David Zinn's drawings. Hope your weather will. Be calm and bright! Hugs, Valerie
DeleteBeautiful green art Valerie, love David Zinns chalk drawings. We have a fine and windy day here today, next three days are forecast for rain and storms! Maybe summer is coming in January and Feb, I will be complaining about the heat then!! Merry Christmas to you Valerie, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting this year!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! There seem to be storms all over just now, stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas! Hugs!
DeleteLove how she's eyeing the bird! And that road sign is too dang funny, lol. Good restorative weekend to you and a Happy Christmas, xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimeslee, merry Christmas! Hugs!
DeleteLovely page and thanks for the funnies!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, merry Christmas! Hugs!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. Love your fun, green lady, too funny how they are eyeballing each other, great idea. Have a quiet weekend and get some rest! Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, have fun with the family, hugs, Valerie
DeleteThe weather is atrocious here in Wales too with named storms bringing heavy rain, flooding, and damaging winds. I had to venture out yesterday and not only came home chilled to the bone, I was nearly blown over several times. We've even had an earthquake just north of us. This is the time for art! Your green lady is spectacular and I love how she and the wee birdie eyeball each other! Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteSorry the weather is so awful, please be very careful! I heard about the earthquake in TV, it's really incredible!! Glad you like my green lady! Hugs!
DeleteSchön deine in grünhaltende Frau mit dem hübschen Vogel und alles andere im Posting!
ReplyDeleteIch wünsche dir schöne Weihnachten und ein geruhsames Wochenende.
Lieben Gruss Elke
Danke liebe Elke! Frohes Fest and alles Liebe!
DeleteThose looks between the green lady and the bird are too cute! I hope your weather calms down so you're able to enjoy a peaceful weekend. Just loving that cat wearing rollers and doing laundry! Too funny :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol, the kitty is really fun! Enjoy the weekend and have a great Christmas! Hugs!
DeleteThis is the confluence of all that I love coming together, Valerie. A beautiful woman, a colourful bird and the green of a healthy environment. If only they could somehow jointly reproduce and prosper together. Of beautiful women there are many in this world and I see them every day, of birds there are legions but their numbers are declining drastically and their homes are being destroyed by Homo distinctively unsapiens. The environment, however, is being pillaged, raped and left in tatters in every corner of the globe, every day, every minute of every day. The winter solstice just proclaimed the entry into a new period of growth, fecundity and renewal, forgetting perhaps that it is glancing down on a ravaged, degraded, compromised, filth-laden, polluted, over-populated, plastic-filled world, with Homo unsapiens at war again (well it never stopped actually), merrily killing each other and destroying the cities of its own creation, and erasing what has been termed progress. The air, soil and water have all been poisoned, and pregnant women are cautioned not eat fish for fear of endangering the health of their foetus. If you can have a merry Christmas despite all of this you (collectively, not you personally) despite all of this, your eyes are indeed well blinkered. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the world is in a pitiful state, and the wars and fighting everywhere just don't help at all. And I stay as much as possible in my ivory tower and try to paint the ugliness away or to forget it with reading. On Thursday I 'celebrated' my 77th birthday, that is, I went to the Pizzeria with Heike! I wish you all the best, and hope you can enjoy some time wwith Miriam, friends and family.! Hugs xxxxxxx
DeleteThe expression on your lady is great Valerie. I don't think she knows what to make of that bird. :) I hope your weather has improved. My basement is finally dry. Hurrah for small things. (And I hope Heike's is too.Did I spell that correctly? I seem to have need caffeine brain this AM) And I also hope you are still improving every day. That meme about a dog being the most popular guest at a Christmas party is so true, isn't it? Have a wonderful weekend, and if you do any holiday celebrating, I hope you have fun. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, I think the bird and the woman are sizing each other up....Today the weather is just grey and wet, but more storms are expected.Yes, you spelled Heike correctly! I hope you have a great holiday with your family! Hugs!
DeleteFabulous page, love her face. Great funnies as well. Have a wonderful Christmas, hugs Wendy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy, you, too! Hugs!

Thanks Viola. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
DeleteDavid Zinn is a local artist here in Ann Arbor, where he does most of his sidewalk chalk drawings, so I’m always bemused when you include his work.

P.S My dog steals the show no matter what time of year it is hee hee xx
How lovely and fresh does this journal page look? It is beautiful and I always think it is a herald towards the next season for us to look forward to when I see this colour used with such abandonment.
ReplyDeleteYou know I already love your portraits, especially with the ladies hair cascading down and this one, with the addition of the bird in such a contrasting colour really sparks the imagination within me.
Take care - I don't like to think of you being ill especially at this time of the year.
Hugs, Neet xx
The colors on your acrylic really pop and I love them! I do hope you are feeling much better. I loved all the art and the darling memes and thinkies, too!
