Wednesday post

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter / Passover  weekend - now have a great week. Just a short post from me today, time has run away from me! The background of the page was made a long time back, but their was no focal image. So I printed Leda onto an old dictionary page - I still have loads of pages - and added the lace and embellishments, which have all been used before, too. I am linking to Elizabeth's recycling challenge at AJJ:

And I recycled  yesterday's dinner and made it into today's lunch, and it tasted very good!

Heike gave me this beautiful basket with lots of eggs - real and chocolate - and a rabbit:

I don't know if you can see it, but the bunny is wearing a bow tie made from a 50€ bank note. Now that's a great nest egg! Thanks Heike!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. Good morning, Valerie: I wish to hereby register on Heike's Easter list for next year. We don't usually give Easter a passing thought, but if baskets with chocolates and money are in the offing sign me up! She is a very generous friend and no doubt would love to extend her benevolence to Canada. I am equally sure that Leonardo would approve of having Leda's image superimposed on a dictionary page, much more than on an Amazon shopping bag. At this stage in life I would like to be like DaVinci and be able to start a project and then have a corps of students and acolytes, waiting on my every word, to finish the job. Yesterday Josh and I took Roddy, a twelve-year old friend, and his mom, Vashti, to Long Point down on the shore of Lake Erie, to get a taste of spring migration, and to visit the bird observatory. They were thrilled and Roddy is determined to sign up for the Young Ornithologists programme - minimum age is thirteen. It is an absolute joy for me to encourage and stimulate an interest in nature. With hugs and kisses for Valerie and Heike, the coffee-quaffing, sausage-snacking, dessert-devouring fraus fatales of Lower Balconia - David

    1. The Frauen of Balconia greet you, too! You certainly give me a good laugh every morning! I'm not sure you will be able to register on this list, you're probably over the age! Glad Roddy has such a great interest in birds, ornithologistsnd he's lucky that you can show him so much. I am sure he will be a good member of the young ornthologists as soon as he is 13! Have a great day, nice birds to look at, lots of garbage to take out ad plenty of books to read! BIG hugs! xxxxx

  14. I love Leda printed on the printed paper. It makes her even more interesting than she already is. It ends up making a pretty page. And that is a yummy basket. We have a LIndt chocolate factory not too far away so I know how yummy their chocolate is. Enjoy. Hope you had a great Wednesday. hugs-Erika

  17. Some bunny loves you and that bunny is Heike. Bless her!

Your journal page is brilliant. I am so impressed by how you incorporated the book page with the image. Including the feather and lace made it feel even softer and more fragile. Thanks so very much for sharing this awesome entry with us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard's and my theme.

  25. I would never have thought of stamping a face onto a dictionary page but I love the effect you have achieved. it works! In fact it looks fabulous against that lovely background with the diamonds. One of my favourite stencils is called 'diamonds in the rough' and is sort of diamonds that are broken on some edges, I love it. Love the colours you have chosen for your diamond background and the fact that you echoed them with the lace, feather and flower. A perfect way to link.
I have basket envy - how lovely of your friend.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  26. Yes, a busy week and with such a lovely outcome. Your journal page is delightful and deserves a comment from Leonardo. No basket for me this year ... just cards. I have given up on eating sugar as it causes desperate cravings that I can do without. But, I am enjoying spring as our garden is showing colors already (and sadly our yard has erupted in dandelions ... we must quickly spread the Preemergence and fertilizer ... seems time got away from us this year). I love the bowtie on your bunny ... I will suggest to my family that I get Bunny bowties instead of chocolate eggs next year ... a grand idea :) I love little Hopscotch with his little tongue sticking out :) Have a wonderful Spring week and enjoy even the rain as the air smells delicious after a good downpour.
