T sTands for This and That

Hi Everybody!

Today I am sharing another altered  A4 Amazon envelope, which I will be using for storing  papers, scraps or whatever. The first one is here, if you havent seen it already. I couldn't pull the top layer of paper off, as I wanted to, as my fingers don't have the strength anymore, so I slashed into it with the point of my fine scissors and roughened it up a bit. I painted the background with gesso, and added some colour with gold paint and soft pastels. Then I collaged some bits and bobs from my table, including the die-cut clock which I have often used as a stencil. I added another squiggle of gold paint around the clock and a sentiment - done! I am enjoying doing some grungy work again! I am linking to Elizabeth's recycling challenge at AJJ:

On Monday evenings we start celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, where we share drinks and more .

On Saturday I walked home through the park. Sometimes I have the feeling I am being watched....

This is one of my fave decorations at home, all carved from one piece of wood, including the frame. And it's the only thing on my walls that hasn't been made b me:

Not one of my best pics:

Ane here are more of the pics I rescued from my camera after forgetting them for weeks:

I love misty mornings!

And what are these shoes for?

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Your envelope looks amazing. That's a great recycling idea, and it's perfect for Elizabeth's theme. That clock die cut is one of my favorites. And those pieces of pie look yummy. Or perhaps it is cheesecake, but yummy either way. And I hope your cat has poured that glass of wine for you...smile. Foggy photos are always amazing, as are those big red suns. You could be in Africa with that red color. I hope you have a great T day, and enjoy your walks and coffee too. Hugs-Erika

  5. Great recycle Valerie, clever composition with the Amazon curved arrow makes it all look like a face. Really love the words you used, clever design and extra useful to store your papers. Thanks for sharing all the photo's, how sweet is that Bunny cake... glad you saved and shared those from your camera, you've a great eye for snap shots.

  8. Hello Amazon Recycler. Who knew that such a use could be made of old envelopes? I don't shop on Amazon, but I am sure that if I did I would open the envelope very carefully so that Miriam could reuse it for her ETSY shipments. Nothing so grand as decorating - and with inspirational message too. I am far too pedestrian it seems, lacking in creative flair, devoid of vision. What kind of person doesn't even own Gesso? I shall probably enter a funk for a week, maybe two. Perhaps Miriam will see that I am morose and troubled and she will offer consolation and words of encouragement; more likely, however, she will say, "Take out the garbage." That wooden piece is amazing, Valerie, all carved from one piece of wood and replete with birds. Try doing that with an Amazon envelope. Yesterday it was eleven degrees here and we went for a wonderful walk and saw and heard many migrant birds, all happy to be back in Ontario, singing their hearts out, finding mates and making homes. What a glorious time of the year it is. We also saw a couple of Muskrats, safely munching on aquatic vegetation, no longer mercilessly trapped for the fur trade. Maybe on you next Amazon envelope you will paint a Muskrat with a ray of sunshine pouring down, and off to the right one caught in a cruel trap with a broad stroke through it denoting that hunting these enchanting creatures is no longer acceptable. Gee, maybe I'll come up with other ideas for you. Better get more envelopes. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Hi David, I think the Amazon envelopes are fabulous, and I'm sure Miriam likes them, too! Perhaps you could store birdseed in them, or other essentials. You really have no Gesso? Hard to believe, what do you do without it?! Oh yes, you take the garbage out. That's creative! We have a lot of nutrias here, I like watching them, but they supposedly do a lot of damage to the dikes. Keep thinking of uses for the envelopes! Have a great week, hugs!xxxx

  10. I have problems getting the corrugated boxes to separate, too. Since I have no pinch grip, my cardboard backgrounds start a lot like yours. I love that clock die cut. It feels like grunge after you have used it so many times for a background or mask. I like how you positioned it over the eye, too. This is a wonderful entry for Bleubeard's and my theme at AJJ.

All your coffees and cappuccinos look great. I love those bunnies swimming in a drink. You have given us some beautiful examples of coffee for T this week, dear Valerie.

Gotta LOVE that cat listening to your day. And the early morning sunrises are stunning, especially those in fog. It was great to see your current trees beginning to leaf out, and contrast those to the earlier photos where they were just beginning to bud. Laughed at your photo with your fingers over the lens. I've never done that, but I often get my camera lens or my neck strap in the photo.

  18. All those cake photos are very tempting! I enjoy cheesecake but it’s so rich that I usually don’t order it in a restaurant because I hate to be unable to eat all of my ordered food. I like the cake with the Easter bunnies especially.

Your misty morning photos are lovely and I especially like the two images with the dark stormy skies and the lit up trees before it. That's exactly the mood I love and the light I often try to capture with my photos. You did it perfectly.

  26. Valerie! What a lot of photos...lol They were all lovely! Love your altered recycled envelope.. beautiful.. Without the wood piece you could probably send it through the mail! Wouldn't that be something! Speaking of all your things on the wall.. My favorite scene of the movie Titanic was at the beginning with the older Rose surrounded by all the things she made and she doing pottery.. remember that? And i thought to myself 'i want that to be my house.. so the things i make go on the wall too.. Happy T day! Hugs ! deb
