Hi Everybody!
Hope all is well with you. Another weekend has flown by and a new week is here. let's hope it will be better than the last one.
At Tag Tuesday we are starting a new challenge, beginning this evening at 9.30 pm. This time our lovly and talented Wendy is hosting and has chosen 'add a pocket' as her theme. So any theme or type of Tag is welcome, it must just have a pocket on it. As always our challenges run for 2 weeks and tags of all formats that follow the theme are welcome. I'm looking forward to seeing what YOU make. This is my digital tag:
For Matilde's birds challenge at
AJJ I have a hybrid piece put together from various photos, die-cuts, leaves and drawings, with the colours digitally altered:
This evening we will be celebrating
Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, where we meet up with various ladies from across the globe, so a hearty welcome to all of the nice ladies who visit here. We went out for a meal again, so once again we enjoyed alcohol-free white beer:
And here and there I needed to drink a coffee:
And some funnies:
Ooops, I just realised I AM old - I can start misbehaving straightaway!
Last week I showed pics of the big flea-market in
Neuss, a neighbouring town. Today I have some photos showing the past history of the town, going back to the time of the Romans:
The little river which runs through the town:
The old walls were built by the Romans and 'improved' in the middle ages:
This is the Hamtor, one of the few surviving Roman arches there:
Some models showing the town in Roman times:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely art, photos and memes today Valerie!
ReplyDeleteThanks , have a good week!
DeleteI am interested in the alcohol free beer. I must check if we have it here.
ReplyDeleteIt's really good!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! Hope your weekend went well and that you have a happy and healthy week. Here all is well, the kids are at school, biss! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, have a great week!
Deleteamazing post Valerie, Loved everything-your art is always wonderful, loved all the photos, glad you got out for beverages too, and nice funnies. enjoy your day Happy T hugs Kathy
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy, happy T Day! Sta safe!
DeleteI am delighted with your works and photos. I like non-alcoholic beer because it is tasty and my husband, after heart surgery, also liked it
ReplyDelete:) Good week:)
Thans Lucyna. I, too, have heart problems and this sort of beer is good, no problems!
DeleteGood morning, Valerie: I am glad to see that you have been out and about again, schmoozing, wining and dining, slurping and burping. We only drink beer when my daughter visits. She and her husband are into micro breweries and are always trying something new. I am not now, nor ever have been, a huge fan of beer, but Miriam enjoys sipping with Caroline when we get together. We have never tried a non-alcoholic type. Neuss really does look like a very interesting town, quaint and charming too. Those Romans knew hot to build, didn't they? Your tag is bright and colourful, and the second piece featuring a bird is of course exalted from the get-go. The family of chickadees in our backyard should be fledging any day now. The parents are nothing if not devoted. Yesterday while sitting on the patio they fed the young twelve times in thirty minutes, mostly with juicy green caterpillars that are full of fat and protein, just what a nestling needs to fuel its growth. A new week begins. Enjoy it to the fullest. Hugs and kisses --- David
ReplyDeleteI am not a beer fan, this is the only type I like, and I am not allowed to have any alcohol. No wine, either! Hope your chickadees are soon read to leave the nest. I sat in the park this morning and watched a crow family, the 'babies' were as big as their parents, but still enjoying bein fed! Birds are good parents, some humans would do good to bring their kids up so well! I'm not plannig on having any juicy caterpillars for my evening meal, I'll stick to bread and cheese with tomatoes and cucumber!
DeleteBoth art pieces are lovely today Valerie. I feel bad I didn't get to join into Michele's challenge, but the good news is I am starting to fill my space (boy it will be too full again I think-smile) and I can hopefully find a bit of time soon. I love seeing the head too. This color in this one against the black is quite striking. And happy early T day too. It looks like you've been out enjoying life. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible to enter every challenge, the next one starts this evening - put a pocket on it! I'm sure you will get your craft space filled up very quickly, I have the feeling that things multiply over night! I have been painting for the next AJJ challenge today, now I need to clear up my mess! Hugs, Valerie
DeleteReally amazing historical town. So incredible that it dates back to the Roman era B.C. Hawaiian history is very young by comparison.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of very ancient towns here. The little town where I live is 1300 years old, and we still have lots of buildings from the middle ages, and the castle ruins where the Emperor Barbarossa once lived. I like to be in historicl places!
DeleteBeautiful art and wonderful photos! I love the funnies too, I'm going to start misbehaving now I'm 60 :D
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it, have fun!
DeleteThese are beautiful tags, Valerie. I love the photos so many interesting places. Ha ha ha on the funnies too. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole, have a good week!
DeleteThere's something about that orange tag that I really love. The heat of it? The brightness? It's fabulous! Loved the funnies and the photos, too. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, have a great week!

Thanks Chrissy, have a great day!
DeleteThe history of the area where you live is fascinating. So much history, unlike here in the states. This is a beautiful town and I was really impressed with the Roman arch.
ReplyDeleteYour tag is great. I love the dirty brushes. Well done. I also like your AJJ entry. You have put me to shame, since I don't seem to be making near what you do.
Love the coffee, but not fond of your beer. I would join you for coffee any day, dear Valerie. Thanks for sharing your art, your tag, your beer, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday. also thanks for taking us to Neuss.
Thanks E, this is really a very ancient area with a long and interesting history!

ReplyDeleteIt’s good you have been out and about again. I used to drink white beer when I was young. I haven’t had it since. And I haven’t seen an alcohol free version of it here. They are very clever nowadays with the alcohol free beers. They taste really good.
I enjoyed the photos of Neuss. Beautiful town.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Thanks Lisca. Neuss is an amazing town to visit, so much to see and enjoy, you would love it!
