Weekend Post

 Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a happy and safe weekend. I am feeling a tad better, which makes me happy!
Today I have a new piece for Elizabeth's What's your style challenge at AJJ. I have a mixed media A3 face, a fun piece made to cheer me up. I am also linking to Paperbabe challenges, anything goes:

Some paintings of Düseldorf from Ferdinand Pathel:

  1. I am delighted to hear that you are feeling a little better, Valerie, and that is quite a woman you have created for us as testament to your renewed vigour. I just hope this poor girl doesn't get a sore throat! She'd need a tumbler of medicine not a teaspoon! And think of the distance her food has to travel from her mouth all the way down the alimentary tract. Maybe she has strong muscles and grinds and mashes it on the way! Perhaps we should name her Giraffe Woman. She is very appealing though and I think that it's entirely appropriate that you experiment with different body shapes so that we appreciate them all, and rejoice in people the way they are. Right now we are ensconced in a hotel in Belleville. We will leave early in the morning to meet up with my daughter, son-in-law and grandson to take the ferry to Amherst Island where we hope to find some owls. Then in the afternoon we will go to her house in Ottawa to wine, dine, laugh, giggle, and generally have a fine time together. Until the next time, hugs and kisses. David

    1. Hi David! Glad you like today's girl with the long neck, just think how nice it would be to have such a long neck to kiss! And as you say, I like to experiment, and art doesn't have to resemble reality, which is why I like it! Glad you are already safely in Belleville. Hope your birding tour will be successful and that you see lots of owls, and take lots of photos to delight us. And enjoy your well deserved wining and dining afterwards. Have a great time together with your family. Hugs, Valerie

  17. What good news to read you are marginally better. Bleubeard and I will be dancing in the office after hearing this good news.

My neck is so short, I say I have no neck. I envy your lady with her extra long neck. I love your painting. You draw and paint those women so well. She has such a pretty face, too.

What beautiful paintings. I love the quirky buildings he painted that you show ever so often. I also like how he painted the canal. I was impressed that he painted both historical and modern Dusseldorf.

LOVED the cat meme and the others were just beautiful and SO true, too. Stay safe and get well, dear.

  25. So pleased you are feeling a little better. It shows in your painting. An ex teacher of mine once told me that when you paint with purple it shows you are happy. Not sure how true it is but it works with this lovely lady you painted. Love the Dusseldorf paintings.
