Midweek post and happy mail

Hi Everybody!

We had another very cold and windy day here, but I was lucky to get home this afternoon just before the rain started. Sooner or later it has to get better!

For my 'spring is in the air challenge at Tag Tuesday I have another tag made from the masterboard I showed yesterday. This time the background stamps used are from Artemio. The woolly sheep is one I picked up last week at the Euro shop, I couldn't resist it!

And here another piece of altered art, this time with a painting from Miro, which I chopped up, re-assembled and scribbled on - fun!

I was very happy to get some happy mail from Canada in the post this week, sent by David Gascoigne of Travels with birds.
David often goes off bird spotting and shows the most wonderful photos on his blog, and he really knows a lot about them. If you are a bird lover, check his blog out - it's worth it!

I love this card with the penguins, which I unfortunately only know from zoos,
and this pic is really priceless. Miriam made the beautiful bookmark, which is so beautifully sewn. Thanks you guys, much appreciated! Real letters in the postbox instead of bills and adverts are always such a delight, and seem to be getting rarer these days, which makes it all the lovelier when letters like this arrive!

This was the nearest we got to sunrise today:

The sky changed constantly, from black clouds to blue skies and sunshine:

The Canada Geese were out and about:

The sheep are higher up on the meadows just now:

Sorry for the fuzzy pic, I had problems to keep the camera still because of the raging wind, which didn't seem to disturb the sheep a bit:

More damage along the stream:

I just got home before the rain started:

And I have new slipper-socks to keep my feet warm- aaaaaaaaaaw!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  10. Fun art for sure. You are on a roll deconstructing and reconstructing these masterpieces. And your new slippers made me think of the sheep on your tag. They look comfy and cute. Hope you have a great Wednesday and can get out for a nice walk. hugs-Erika

  13. The bun! Äh, also der... ja, wie heißt das denn?! "Puschel"? Also der Hasen-"Po". Niedlich!
    Und ich liebe Schafe!
    Auch die Miro-Spielerei ist toll!

Das stimmt. Ich mache mittlerweile den Briefkasten nicht auf. Nur schlechte oder dumme Post (Ingo bringt´s ja trotzdem rein).
Schön, dass du was Persönliches bekommen hast! Also was Schönes.

Oh, Miezen :-) Auf warme Füße!

  14. Ah! Another very clever and adorable tag, Valerie. So different from yesterday's. Love the bunny, but that sheep stole the show.

Speaking of sheep, I loved the photos from your walk of the sheep. They look like they can take this weather. And your slippers are simply cuddly and fun.

Canadian geese are everywhere. I thought the cockroach would take over the world, but now I think it's those infernal geese! Speaking of Canada, thanks for the link to David's blog. I'll check it out. He certainly sent lovely happy mail and that bookmark is wonderful.

Gotta LOVE Miro. You may remember the Miro mural I showed from the campus at Wichita State. To say I like Miro is an understatement. His work fascinates me.

  18. Oh, when you show sheep I swoon. And I love how you use the whole palette! I tend to stick to one or two color schemes, largely and I really need to get out of that box. Isn't David one of the most thoughtful bloggers out there? That card and Miriam's gorgeous bookmark are wonderful!

  22. The sheep pom pom is so cute Valerie and sits very well on another fab tag, perfect addition for Spring. I agree totally about happy mail, so much nicer than brown envelopes and junk mail. Beautiful card & book mark, people are very carrying and generous in the world. Sad to see the damage the storms have caused but I think we have to be grateful, there has been so many floods here in the UK & each time they seem to get nearer and nearer to home. Hoping that Storm Dennis may not be a fierce as they are saying. Those new slippers will keep your tootsies nice and warm through the rest of winter very sweet indeed. Sending midweek hugs your way Tracey xx
