Hi Everybody!
It's a cold and frosty day here, but the sun is shining and the skies are blue, so I will enjoy meeting up with friends this afternoon and going for a walk.
This is the last of the pages I made with the strips of Jane Davenport wrapping paper, collaged onto a painted background. I added some strips of washi tapes and images cut from a magazine, and sewed around some of the strips. Then I added some spots and dots in coordinating colours. The quote is from Shakespeare, (Measure for Measure) and reads:
'Take, oh take those lips away,
That so sweetly were forsworn,
And those eyes: the breake of day,
Lights that do mislead the Morn;
But my kisses bring again, bring again,
Seals of love, but sealed in vain, sealed in vain.'
And I have some more photos from our visit to the Gruga Park in Essen 2 weeks ago. This house from the 11th century is in the middle of it, and is now used for events:
A tree with a face:
I am sure the rose gardens are magnificent in summer, but there were still lots of blooms when we visited:
Would you try to climb this tree?
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hello dear Valerie!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love your colorful and joyful page and the beautiful details with the face and the strips!
Stunning pictures and Autumn scenery from this fantastic park!
Like the old house with the bricks, the face on the tree and the gorgeous roses!
Thank you for sharing all this beauty! Wishing you a lovely day and a happy weekend! Hugs!
Dimi...
Thanks so much dear Dimi.
DeleteHi Val, another wonderful post. Love the new journal page, and they are very much your colours! Your composition is always fantastic. Beautiful photos, that's a great park in Essen, glad you had such a good time there. Enjoy your trip out today, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteGorgeous page and a wonderful quote. The photos are beautiful too. I shovelled so much snow yesterday, wet and packing.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy we don't have to shovel snow, a facility service does it. I know what hard work it is.
DeleteEvery photo takes me away from my snowy world! All beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI do love the effects of these stripe and eye pages. They create such a cool effect. And I also love your fall photos. With the white snow here it doesn't feel like fall at all any more. Which is too bad since late fall has its own unique beauty. Hope you have a good walk and a fun afternoon out. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying every minute of this beautiful late autumn. The afternoon out was fun!
DeleteI can't get over your Autumn color, and especially the still-blooming flowers. I love that a house that old sees continued use. The history and dedication to maintaining structures like this... impressive! That tree looks a bit prickly for climbing ;)
ReplyDeleteThe face peeking through the colorful background is very mysterious. The park is just so beautiful with vibrant color. Amazing that a building that old can still be used. I think that tree must have stood in the hedge of Sleeping Beauty as a way to deter the prince. Enjoy your walk!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea with Sleeping Beauty!
DeleteOh I just loved this walk with you. The air crisp, the sun shining, the sky so blue.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyable. Love the tree with a face and all of your other photograph too :)
Have a great weekend.
All the best Jan
A very expressive page, those eyes look amazing, as do the photos of the park, wow, what a beautiful place! Happy weekend xx
Hugs
Sabine
Danke Sabine!
DeleteHi Valerie wow loving your journal pages the colours are beautiful, well done and thankyou for sharing your stunning pics.
ReplyDeleteIts a fantastic page Valerie and I love you you added the words around the edges, it was a super quote to use.
ReplyDeleteWonderful autumn photos again today, I loved the tree face, but I certainly wouldn't want to climb the prickly tree.
Yvonne xx
Beautiful patterns within your collage - and the colours are gorgeous.

The brickwork in that beautiful building is really nice to see. I loved the garland on the door. Its nice to see that you have some roses still blooming there :D)
