It's starting to get cold!

Hi Everybody!

It's slowly cooling down here, and by next week it should be really frosty. As it has been mild and sunny most days, it was rather surreal watching people erecting the booths for the Christmas market, which opens in a few days, especially as the workers were mostly wearing short sleeved shirts.
Time to get my winter pullovers out!

For Paint Party Friday I made another A3 (12" x 16") mixed media piece. The background was painted with cream and then sponged with some left over brown acrylic paint, which I also used to stencil some diamonds, honeycombs  and a flying figure. I sewed various strips of netting, gold paper, linen and burlap to the page, and a strip of cork and gold washi tape was added. The figures are from TH, the butterflies (LaBlanche) were fussy cut. The quote is from Buddha. The blue patches were rubbed on with a Gelato.
I am also linking to Simon Wednesday challenge,  all that glitters is gold.

Another beautiful sunrise:

At the beginning of November G and I visited the Gruga Park in Essen, and enjoyed walking around in sunshine, enjoying the flowers, gardens and trees. I took a lot of photos, the first batch of which I am showing here. I was astonished to see so many blooming flowers in November:

There were lots of rusty sculptures along our way:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  6. A beautiful page Valerie and you added a super quote.
I loved seeing the photos from your walk, the sculptures are fantastic but I was surprised that there we so many flowers still in bloom. We are having a cold time with the weather even though the sun is still shining it has no warmth.
Have a goos rest of the day.

  8. I love the little dude on your page. The figures make me thing of stages as that boy grows up. Young boy, teen, young man. Hopefully, he will find the one word that would bring piece. Your sunrise pictures and pictures of the park are awesome. The colors are so vibrant. Waiting on snow here for tonight. Looking forward to it. Not!.

Deine Fotos sind auch wieder wunderbar geworden mit etwas Kunst und den letzten Herbstschönheiten. Ein Genuß!

The sunrise is so beautiful but does show the return of cold weather I think.

All of the other photographs are fantastic and I really love the idea of rusty wire sculptures.

When I was a teenager I had a penfriend in Essen so the post brought back memories for me--thank you

  22. We have to figure out what that one word is that can bring peace, so we can all shout it to the heavens and change the world. If only it were that easy...

As always, your sunrise photo is breathtaking. I wonder what it is about the sky's beauty that is so uplifting...? It's amazing that you have so many kinds of flowers still in bloom. The dahlia is especially gorgeous.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope it doesn't get too cold too fast.
