More this and that

Hi Everybody!

Another week is speeding by and there never seems to be enough time to do everything I would like to. Once again, I gave housework a miss and used my time wisely for playing in my arty kitchen, going for walks in the cold, crisp air and reading good books. It has got much colder, but yesterday was sunny, and I enjoyed walking briskly through the fields and along the Rhine. The Christmas market is almost ready to start, so I'm looking forward to crispy Reibekuchen (fried potato cakes) and perhaps a mug of Glühwein (hot, spiced wine). I managed to fill some more pages in my journal and make some more tags, too. I'll start with the tag for Joan's Tic-tac-toe challenge at Tag Tuesday, using the last row from top to bottom. The leaves/wings of my little boy are the re-used items:

This double page in my journal was made using scraps of JD tissues, collage parts from a printed sheet, washi tape and lots of colour added with Pitt pens, gelatos and JD pens over a gessoed background. I very much enjoy making pages like this, just slapping on the layers and colours and having fun, with no particular theme or aim. It is most relaxing:

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

This morning the wood pigeons are I were all watching the sunrise:

I enjoyed another afternoon walk at the Rhine:

Happy Thanksgiving to all friends in the USA:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  2. A terrifc tag yet again Valerie. I love the old pics of children you find to use and the way everything on the tag matches so well

A very bright and cheerful journal spread to brighten this dark and dull day. I like the white that you have left to show all the additions at theri best.

Beautiful photographs and great to see that the sun has set somewhere as it certainly hasn't here.

    Have a great day

  5. Gorgeous tag, even though the little boy looks a bit dubious about his wings. Great photos. What’s the secret with potato cakes,I always think they taste flourery.

    1. Just make them with grated potatoes, onion and egg, no flour! I would be dubious of flying with leafy wings, too!

  9. Love the new header with that little fairy/muse. :) And your tag is great too. I made one yesterday I will post this weekend. :) And I love the journal spread too. How fun! It is -15 degrees C here this morning and windy...this is January weather. We will probably be hot then as our weather is so unusual right now. Have a wonderful day. Hugs-Erika

  11. Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. :)

Such beautiful sunrise pictures. You know I am partial to trees/birds against the sky! So pretty. Your walk looks lovely and crisp. It is very, very cold here today. Almost 0 degrees F. Yikes. They are saying it is the coldest Thanksgiving on record. Hopefully the weather will be warmer tomorrow. :)

    Have a lovely day!

  27. Time really does seem to be running away with itself, today has been a blur with carework and helping Mom & Mum with their weekly shop and outstanding chores. I'd even scheduled a post the wrong time << Silly me!!
I love the Tag prompts, really hope to play along but I fear time will not be on my side. Fabulous little tag & you have put those scraps to good use in your double page spread.
The German Market is already in full steam in Birmingham, a mug of Glühwein is always welcomed when visiting but I do not think I will get chance to visit this year.
I will have to have double next year hee hee!!
Have a super weekend & do what ever makes you happy..
    Happy PPF Hugs Tracey x

  32. I think you used your time very well!! Sounds like a perfect way to spend it. :) That's what I did today, neglected the house work and just did art things most of the day. It's the last day of our holiday break before school starts tomorrow, so I had to take advantage of the time. ;P

Love your tags and journal pages. The pictures look like a fun time spent outside! We've had a short blast of cold air today too.

    Happy PPF!!
