Hi Everybody!
Another week is speeding by and there never seems to be enough time to do everything I would like to. Once again, I gave housework a miss and used my time wisely for playing in my arty kitchen, going for walks in the cold, crisp air and reading good books. It has got much colder, but yesterday was sunny, and I enjoyed walking briskly through the fields and along the Rhine. The Christmas market is almost ready to start, so I'm looking forward to crispy Reibekuchen (fried potato cakes) and perhaps a mug of Glühwein (hot, spiced wine). I managed to fill some more pages in my journal and make some more tags, too. I'll start with the tag for Joan's Tic-tac-toe challenge at Tag Tuesday, using the last row from top to bottom. The leaves/wings of my little boy are the re-used items:
This double page in my journal was made using scraps of JD tissues, collage parts from a printed sheet, washi tape and lots of colour added with Pitt pens, gelatos and JD pens over a gessoed background. I very much enjoy making pages like this, just slapping on the layers and colours and having fun, with no particular theme or aim. It is most relaxing:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday
This morning the wood pigeons are I were all watching the sunrise:
I enjoyed another afternoon walk at the Rhine:
Happy Thanksgiving to all friends in the USA:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Delightful post and of cours the photos are always of interest..hugs..x
ReplyDeleteA terrifc tag yet again Valerie. I love the old pics of children you find to use and the way everything on the tag matches so well
ReplyDeleteA very bright and cheerful journal spread to brighten this dark and dull day. I like the white that you have left to show all the additions at theri best.
Beautiful photographs and great to see that the sun has set somewhere as it certainly hasn't here.
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
I hope the sun soon shines again for you!
DeleteBeautiful tag and journal page Val. Love the colour schemes on both of them. It's grey and cloudy here, so good to see some sun in your lovely photos. Hope you are feeling better now, look after yourself. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteHello dear Valerie!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabulous tag and your gorgeous journal page!
Like the details of the boys wings and the sea theme of your page ! I also like the colors!
Stunning pictures of the sunrise and the pigeons, and from your walk to to Rhine! Spectacular colors!
I also like the Reibekuchen, and i have a recipe for making them! Thank you for sharing!
Have a lovely relaxing day! Hugs!
Dimi...
Thanks dear Dimi! I think everybody loves Reibekuchen, and often make them myself when friends come.
DeleteGorgeous tag, even though the little boy looks a bit dubious about his wings. Great photos. What’s the secret with potato cakes,I always think they taste flourery.
ReplyDeleteHugs Wendy
Just make them with grated potatoes, onion and egg, no flour! I would be dubious of flying with leafy wings, too!
DeleteOoh the photos of the wood pigeons are glorious! I love visiting your blog, with the intent of being inspired by your art work, and then I am even blown away by your photography - such a bonus. Thank you Valerie. And I love your tag - that little boy might have some mischief in mind, but trying very hard to be angelic
ReplyDeleteThe wood pigeons are truly beautiful, but they make an awful mess!
DeleteYour journal pages look amazing, and the colors of the season are so beautiful. Have a glass of wine for me! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteHousework can wait. With a beautiful autumn day (and winter on the way) it is time to savor it as you have done. I love your art, too -- especially that little boy tag! He's adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header with that little fairy/muse. :) And your tag is great too. I made one yesterday I will post this weekend. :) And I love the journal spread too. How fun! It is -15 degrees C here this morning and windy...this is January weather. We will probably be hot then as our weather is so unusual right now. Have a wonderful day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSorry its so cold, Stay at home and keep warm!
DeleteCute harvest tag. The green trim looks like peas in the pod and the little cherub with his leaf wings is very cute. Another set of great pictures from your walk. I love the wood pigeons. Can't wait to see pictures from the Christmas market. Gluhwein sounds good. Enjoy your day making art.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Thanksgiving wishes. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful sunrise pictures. You know I am partial to trees/birds against the sky! So pretty. Your walk looks lovely and crisp. It is very, very cold here today. Almost 0 degrees F. Yikes. They are saying it is the coldest Thanksgiving on record. Hopefully the weather will be warmer tomorrow. :)
Have a lovely day!
~Jess

Lovely photos and super ones with the lengthening shadows.

Your autumnal tag look amazing! I love all the collaged items and the little leaf wings that you created for the little boy 😁. Your abstract page is fabulous too, the colours and images flow together beautifully. Wow, what a pretty sunrise and I can't wait to see the Christmas markets either on your blog, enjoy! Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteYour leaf-winged little boy is adorable, but I like your free-wheeling journal pages even more. You say you had fun with it... and it shows. The colors are perfect, and the combination of the images and words project an unfettered playfulness.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!

Time really does seem to be running away with itself, today has been a blur with carework and helping Mom & Mum with their weekly shop and outstanding chores. I'd even scheduled a post the wrong time << Silly me!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Tag prompts, really hope to play along but I fear time will not be on my side. Fabulous little tag & you have put those scraps to good use in your double page spread.
The German Market is already in full steam in Birmingham, a mug of Glühwein is always welcomed when visiting but I do not think I will get chance to visit this year.
I will have to have double next year hee hee!!
Have a super weekend & do what ever makes you happy..
Happy PPF Hugs Tracey x
You are such an inspiration. Finding time to create everyday with art and photos. I love what you created.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I especially like those textural elements in the tag with the boy!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds and looks like time well spent :) Housework is only to be done again, while a walk in nature is never the same. Good choice :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great way of putting it, thanks for the tip!
DeleteLovely work and photos, looks like you definitely used your time wisely. It has gotten so much colder here too, quite suddenly. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteI think you used your time very well!! Sounds like a perfect way to spend it. :) That's what I did today, neglected the house work and just did art things most of the day. It's the last day of our holiday break before school starts tomorrow, so I had to take advantage of the time. ;P
ReplyDeleteLove your tags and journal pages. The pictures look like a fun time spent outside! We've had a short blast of cold air today too.
Happy PPF!!
What a great tag!! I love all the fabulous textures!!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth your art pieces are wonderful! Love them both! So fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Wow! Big Hugs!
