Hi Everybody!
Well, we had a couple of days of spring, and seem now to be back in the cold, wet and windy weather, although it's not as cold as it was last week. We live in hope!
Today I am sharing another page in my family journal, using a photo of my 3 eldest siblings, taken in 1943 at a wartime rally, 'Wings for Victory' in Trafalgar Square. It must have been a hard time for many families. So many were bombed out, living out of suitcases and sleeping in shelters.
My aunt wrote on the back 'Three cockney sparrows'. I used elements from me, Mischief Circus and Serif:
And for Wilma's 'Diamonds are forever' challenge at Tag Tuesday I have another tag with bling:
A beautiful sunrise:
Out and about in the park and along the Rhine:
The flowers always bloom in winter:
The heron just caught a mole:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Love it, really cheery post.xđ [Aussie aNNie's Blog]

ReplyDeleteHi Val, that's another wonderful photo you used today, and I love the overall vintage look, perfectly fitting to the sepia photo. The tag is fun, love how the males are looking at the blinged-up bike! We're going to the zoo today, the kids at least are looking forward to it! Just need to pack our lunches and then we're off. Have a nice day, hugs, Sarah

Awe- sun and green. Those photos make me long for a real spring. Our snow is melting so that is good. That's a fun bicycle tag-love the vintage people. But I really love your family scrapbook. I love how those pages are so artful, not scrapbooky. (OK, new word was just made up.):) This one is really beautiful. :) Happy mid-week.

I am really enjoying your journal scrapbook pages. Seeing your three older siblings and the beautiful additions to the page make this a truly beautiful mixed media entry.
ReplyDeleteYour tag is so cute with the right amount of bling. When I think vintage, I seldom think bling, but this works well together.
As always, I enjoyed the lovely shots you took on your walk today. It is SO green there, not brown and dull like here!
The 'kids' in the photograph must be about my age, it was a strange time: born into war (my school bombed flat) I had never seen street or shop lights until the war ended. Suddenly, the place was ablaze with lights ... a massive culture shock!
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious photo and page you have created! I love the "Three cockney sparrows" description, it seems very fitting and made me smile, thanks for sharing đ. Great photos and the one of your shadow and the tree shadows is so creative - amazing! Have a wonderful week! J đ x
