Castle ruins and sunshine

Hi everybody!
I hope your Sunday was as sunny as it was here. I spent a lot of time outside, it really seems a shame to stay home when the weather is soooo good!

This card is the last of my DT pieces for Gecko Galz for this month. It was made using the same technique as the 2 others I showed some days back, using a digi image (Silhouette stamp set S04) printed onto paper, hand-painted and stamped with acrylics, and embossed with glitter hologram EP. I mounted it onto black card, and then onto a turquoise metallic card blank. I added a shabby bow and some roses as embellishments.

(Material list: metallic card blank, hand-painted paper, hologram EP, embellisments, scrap card for matting)

Today I was happy to see that our castle ruins were open again. They were closed for a couple of months to do some security work so that nobody gets hurt by falling stones. I love being there, and watching the Rhine and the ships from the top of the ruins. They picked a very strategic spot to build the imperial castle.

I hope these two are still in love:

I love the way the plants grow out of the stones.

It seems to be a good place for nesting.

I don't really like this statue, but it seems to be there to stay.

Looking down to the tow-path.

And these seem to have been the guest rooms:

Have a great day, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!

  5. I am liking this technique you are using (have invented?) with your marvellous painted backgrounds and the sparkly images, and here the girl playing music to the bird under a tree by the river is very lovely.
Coming here every morning is like a short holiday, your photographs are so varied. I like the first one of the Rhine and all the ones of your castle walk, especially the one of the arch through to the river and the blue flower (campanula?) by the rocks.

Osterfeiertag. Liebe Grüße, Dagmar.

  9. Hi Valerie, beautiful card, love the background painting, it has a lot of mystery. Your photos are so beautiful as well, such a wonderful area to enjoy. It must seem like you are on vacation every day. We were happy to be outside the past couple of days, I think winter has finally left us. The grass is not quite green yet, it's very late this year. Have a great week, Shirleyx

Your card is gorgeous! It reminds me of a fairy blowing magic dust from her trumpet. And that green background is FAB! (my fave colour) :o))
