Tag Tuesday

Hi you all, it's time for Tag Tuesday, and for the third week running I have my tag done on time. But first I want to show a card I made for *The Cheerful Stamp Pad*, where our theme this week is 'In the Garden'. You have 2 weeks to make something and join in! I have used an aperture card, and a LaBlanche stamp to make the garden scene inside. The girl on the front is a freebie from Free vintage digital images. The lovely dragonfly was made by Diane.

Here is the tag for *Tag Tuesday*. I cut a piece of cardboard in tent form, distressed and inked it, and added an image taken from one of my old books, showing a boys camp back in the 1930s. I added some 'tent-flaps' made from cheese cloth, dyed with DI 'ancient linen', and a flag pole with the Union Jack, rather wonky; we would have got into trouble at scout camp for things like that. I never enjoyed camping as a kid, where I went more or less voluntarily (better than staying home!) to camping *holidays* with the scouts or school, and later, as a teacher, often had to take kids camping (Under protest and NOT voluntarily!). I have added a song we used to sing round the campfire, and some tools, made of paper and rolled round a knitting needle to give them some form. The hammer is a little metal charm. Anyone else remember that song?
There's a long, long worm a-crawling
Along the ridge of my tent.
I can hear reveille blowing,
And it's time I went.
There's some cold, cold water waiting
For me to take my morning dip,
And when I return, I'll find that worm
Upon my pillowslip!

And this was another tag I made on Sunday while on my cardboard trip!
I am Linking here to Simon Says  Stamp and Show, 'Anything goes'

Enough for today! Have a great day you all, take care, and thanks for visiting!

  1. Love the card, and the tags are wonderful, too! Hugs, Sarah

  2. Gorgeous creations here Valerie and very amusing post too which made me smile (necessary on another dreary and nasty day after local flooding problems yesterday - not us but the hospital got flooded and also nearby towns)
Hope you have a good day too.
    Hugs, Fliss xx

  3. I really like the vintage feel to the card...wonderful images.
Your camping tag is great - I haven't made one this week...camping is so not my thing! lol
    Loving the second tag too.
    Hugs xx

  4. I love the vintage look as well, beautiful!

  5. Lovely work and a funny post! Hugs, Barb

  6. Super work Valerie, I really love the tent tag. I don't know that song and I've never been camping in my life! I don't mind a caravan but I need my home comforts! xx

  7. Fantastic card and tags. I remember that song well from Girl Guides, that takes me back a good number of years.

  8. Beautiful card and tags Valerie, I love how you used the dragonfly, that card is gorgeous with the little girl standing in the frame and the delicate stickled flowers beneath her. I am not familiar with that song nor camping. Something I am glad I missed out on, lol.

  9. They are all gorgeous creations Valerie. You spoil us! Love garden theme challenges. Thanks for sharing the link. Your card is beautiful. I really like the image/stamp of the little girl with the large hat that you have used.
    Take care,
    Florence xx

  13. Oh Valerie, your tags are beautiful!
I really like how you are adding tons of details and the embellishments too. You are very "crafty!" :]
    Wonderful work, such "artful" pieces.

  14. Lovely card and tags.....

I don't remember the song..... but I wouldn't want a worm near my pillow for sure!

That image from your book is so pretty....

Have a great day..... I just know you will be super productive :)

  15. Beautiful work, as always. I just love how your film femme is peeking through the filmstrip and how you've blinged her with the beads and feater.
