Friday Post - What makes me happy # 10

Hi Everybody!

Another week is galloping by and the weekend is coming nearer . Today I am sharing a new piece - a huge one (70cms x 50) - which took me a long time to finish. It's always the little details at the end which take the most time!

I am linking to Matilde's 'what makes me happy' challenge, to Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFFF.

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Your painting in blue is striking and so pretty and I am laughing at the one about falling asleep except when it's time to go to bed. I'm writing this at 3 AM because I'm nuclear charged and wide awake after nodding off all day long LOL Have a great weekend and keep smiling :)

    1. Yes, it's difficult when we can't sleep at night and fall asleep all day. It seems to be a problem of getting older! Hugs! Have a great weekend đź’–

  5. I am not sure how I react to today’s lady. She seems to represent a watery realm and perhaps is not happy having her head above water. She is in any event not as alluring and seductively attractive as I generally find the beauties of your creative mind. Others may see her differently, of course. That’s the beauty of art, isn’t it? Yesterday I got hearing aids since my ability to hear bird song, especially at high frequencies, has declined measurably and I am hoping they will help to restore it. It’s too hot to go for a pleasant walk right now, but as soon as it cools down a bit I will put them to the test. I plan to discipline myself to wear them all the time anyway. As people get older it seems that hearing aids are becoming as common as eyeglasses. They are so unobtrusive too. Today I have a presentation to give to the City of Kitchener and tomorrow I am scheduled to lead a walk for the library, but the weather looks exceptionally threatening with potentially dangerous thunderstorms so unless things change that will probably be cancelled. This year we are raising Cecropia moths on our Sugar Maple and Polyphemus on the American Linden, and over the past two days the eggs have hatched and we have caterpillars. Hopefully all will go well. Miriam has made mesh bags to enclose the branches where they are feeding so they will be safe from predators. We also have three Black Swallowtails that have already pupated in the house. Lots of fun! Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Soon I will show some more ladies to seduce you, I know what you like! I have small, in the ear hearing aids since 10 years, and I couldn't do without them. Glad your new lives are prospering, I hope you soon have some butterfly 🦋 photos to show. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie

  6. Those final details on artwork always seem to take the longest - Is it perhaps because we don't want to be finished?

  7. Your page is beautiful and very summery today. I love that blue color! And you shared some wonderful inspiration. That let me poem made me think of a poster I needed back when I was teaching. Kids are so influenced by things other kids do. I hope you've had a lovely week and have a great start to your weekend. hugs-Erika

  22. I love the complimentary colors you chose for the lady. She is a beauty and a great addition to Matilde's theme at AJJ.

Loved the thinkies and loved the idea we should all be kind.

  24. I do feel the one about "everything is coming your way" is for me. So many aches and pains I have asked for to go away - I only hope.
Sorry, I was just moved by that quote you had above. Lots of your thinkies have provided food for thought thought - and Let Them is one I must copy and use somewhere.
Needless to say I love the funnies - David Zinn is wonderful.
And then there is this painting of yours. What a lovely one it is and how huge! I have an A3 piece hanging in my craftroom that is waiting to be finished because I am afraid of the size of it. I love how talented you are that you can paint something so beautiful and large as this. Love the blues you have used in this masterpiece.
    Hugs, Neet xx

    1. I hope that in future just good things will come your way. A3 is always my go-too size, I find it hard to work small. In the clinic I made some twice as big, but it's not possible here as everthing is too small! Thanks for your lovely comments! Hugs!
