Hi Everybody!
Hope your day is going better than mine. I had a nasty fall this morning (Wednesday), and now I'm hurting in places I never knew I had, but it will pass!
Today I have 2 pieces to share. The first is a journal page meant for AJJ, where Chris and Erika have taken over Eileen's theme of inspired by, as Eileen is sadly no longer with us. This page was inspired by using up leftovers. The background was painted, textured and stamped, and was a part of a huge piece made some time back. The head was very fussily cut from a magazine, it was a lot of work, and I didn't get rid of all the white bits!
Anyway, it is as it is! I am also linking to Paint Party Friday.
And for Tag Tuesday , my theme of anything goes, I made a tag book, using up a set of tags printed onto paper. I glued them onto some cardboard tags I cut to fit them, with pictures front and back. I used some crackle varnish on the images, but it didn't crackle well, perhaps it's too old.
First some photos from the super moon. I watched it coming over the horizon behind the airport, so beautiful:
On my walks:
I love how flowers push their way through cracks in walls and paving stones:
My favourite cherry tree in the park of the Diakonie:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
So sorry about that fall, take care! Beautiful art for the challenges and the flowers are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, I'm staying home today to rest!
DeleteSo sorry to read about your fall, I hope you heal up quickly and you are not in too much discomfort.
ReplyDeleteI'll send you a virtual cup of coffee and hope it makes you feel better :)
Lovely art and photographs in your post.
Love the moon photographs.
Take extra care, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
Thanks so much for the virtual coffee, what a lovely thought. The moon was beautiful indeed!
DeleteI am so sorry about your fall! Please take care of you!! Rest, put your feet up!
ReplyDeleteI love your art! So beautiful! Love the quote on the first one!
Gorgeous moon photos! Wow!! I love when flowers grow through the rocks too! Big Hugs!
Thanks Stacy, I am resting! Glad you like the pics, the moon was so wonderful to watch. Stay safe!
DeleteOh No Valerie, hoping nothing is broken healing thoughts coming your way.
ReplyDeletegorgeous art!! and Love all the pretty flowers, great capture of the moon-Hugs Kathy
Thanks Kathy, nothing broken, but lots of aches and pains. Have a great day, stay safe!
DeleteI hope you are doing better from your fall Valerie. It sounds horrible, and hope those sore spots don't stay sore very long. I am loving the wild lady with her blowing in the wind and also that beautiful tag book. Nice art. You got great photos of the moon too. It was pretty spectacular last night, but tonight we have rain so no second views. And aren't the flowering trees and shrubs so pretty when they bloom. Take it easy and don't over do it until you feel better. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, it will take a few days to stop hurting, and I'm resting as much as possible. I liked that lady, too, I love using magazine images. The moon was really spectacular! Have a great day!
DeleteWishing you get well soon after this fall.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is so pretty! I love all the bright color behind the silhouette. I think leaving some of the white bits in her hair just add more interest. I love the words.
Thanks Annie, much appreciated. Those words are always my motto! Have a great day!
DeleteSeriously Valerie?! With all you've been through you sure didn't need that! I'm so sorry and hope you didn't seriously injure yourself in any way. Your art is beautiful and the photos too. I really love the beautiful cherry tree. We don't have those here in Florida. I sure hope you are feeling better soon. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYes Martha, seriously. At my age I shouldn't be diving headlong onto the ground! I'm sore and have a lot of aches, but nothing broken! That cherry tree is my favourite one, it has a great shape. Have a wonderful day!
DeleteOhh Valery this is just gorgeous. You have such a talent. Have a nice evening.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! Have a great day!
DeleteWonderful post, I just love this and so much beauty, Gosh you had a fall, thinking of you and take care.. xxx

Thanks Annie. Hope you heal quickly, too, take care!
DeleteHi Val, good morning! So sorry you had a fall, stay home and let it heal! Beautiful art again today, love that beautiful head with the wild hair, so pretty on your beautiful background. The tag book is lovely, too, great idea. Hope you still have good weather at your end! Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah. The weather is still good here, but I'm staying home today, as everything is hurting! Hugs to you all!
DeleteSorry to hear your husband took a dive, too. Hope we both heal quickly! Take care of yourself, hugs!

Lieben Gruss Elke
Viele Dank, liebe Elke. Ich hoffe dass bald gutes Wetter zu euch kommt. Bleib gesund!
DeleteI hope you'll heal quickly after your fall. You've had a rough few months. Stunning super moon photos, of course, as ever, our sky which had been clear all day clouded over at night and we didn't see it. You take care, do you hear? Hugs Deb
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. I was really happy that the sky stayed clear and that I had such a good view from my balcony. I'm staying home today and resting, I can't risk another fall!
DeleteHow horrible to read you have fallen. I hate to tell you, but you probably feel worse today than you did yesterday.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is fabulous. That was a really fussy cut bop that head. I was amazed at how well you followed the lines. Also, thanks for yet another great entry for Art Journal Journey honoring Eileen's theme.
That tag book is vintage beautiful. I love the little children you found. Really awesome, even if the crackle didn't work well.
Great photos today, too. I have several friends who called and told me about the Pink Moon. So glad you were able to capture it.
Thanks Elizabeth. Yes, you are right, it hurts much more this morning, I'm creeping around like I'm 90! I have thrown that old crackle away now, it's not worth fighting with it! The moon was really a joy to watch! Have a great day!
DeleteHope you recover fast and are ok, Valerie. Sorry that you fell!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful AJ page - I love the way her hair flows out and the inspiring words. The tag book is super well done and I but the crackle gave it an interesting texture even if it didn't crackle.
Lovely walk pictures. Hope you can still walk this week after that fall!
Hugz
Thanks Nancy! A fall was really something I didn't need! I'll be staying home for a couple of days till the pains subside. Have a great week, take care!
DeleteGood morning Your Exquisite Valerieness: There was a song that was popular during the anti-war movement which had the line, "If you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear a flower in your hair." Well, this girl has substituted a feather and she is ready to go anywhere! And judging from your charming views of town she will not have to go far. It really is a delightful corner of the world that you call home. No doubt, it was glancing around you that diverted your attention and caused you to have this nasty fall. Just what you needed after all you have gone through of late. You will be sore for a while, but I hope that you will bounce back quickly (if we can do that at our age!). At least nothing is broken. And be sure to tie the laces on those funky shoes as you go stepping out around town! Take care, heal quickly, drink coffee and enjoy some hugs and kisses from your ardent friend in Canada! David
ReplyDeleteI remember that song, which I still like, we all sang it during my college days. Happy memories of carefree times! When I fell over, the first thing I thought was that I might have damaged my camera....Luckily it was only my left side and knee, but it is very painful. Bounce back, eh!? I'll have to practise that! I'm staying home for a couple of days, so will have lots of time for painting, music, reading and perhaps some mundane things like sorting bills etc! Have a great day, take care, hugs to you both!
DeleteWonderful creations, love the layers. Sorry to hear about your fall, hope you feel better soon. Have a great day. Anesha
ReplyDeleteThanks Anesha. I'm resting. Have a wonderful day!
DeleteI love that picture of the head. Beautiful! That cherry tree looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's a gorgeous tree!

ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Thanks Alison, the moon 🌙🌙 was wonderful. Have a great day!
DeleteOh Valerie, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. I hope the sore places you never knew about heal quickly and I'm glad no bones were broken (at least I hope none were broken!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie, it will hopefully heal in a few days. Take care, hugs!
DeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear about your fall Valerie, it's a mystery where the aches and pains come from, but they certainly do! Your journal page is absolutely gorgeous, and I admire anyone who has the patience for fussy cutting. It's annoying when your crackle paste lets you down, I once kept some for 'special' projects and it set in the jar! I won't do that again ('till the next time lol) Take care and look after yourself xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I sometimes do fussy cutting when I watch TV. Stay safe!
Deletei love your woman art:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteVery fine photos 😊
ReplyDeleteThanks Martyna!
DeleteSo sorry about your fall. Hope the only thing really hurting is your pride. Beautiful art. Your moon photos are gorgeous, too. The moon rose too late and I couldn't stay up to see it so thank you for sharing the photos. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks CJ! I am still hurting a lot, but it will heal. The moon was wonderful, I was very happy that we had good weather.
DeleteI just love your painting and the tags. I would not have noticed the white bits, they look like part of her hair. Lovely Spring photos, my favourite season. Your flowers are a bit ahead of ours, and this recent cold spell will perhaps make some of the bulbs last for longer.
ReplyDeleteTake care, hugs Wendy
Thanks Wendy. Spring is really a wonderful season. Have a great weekend, stay safe!
DeleteValerie, I totally missed commenting on your tags...I love them! They are bright and so sweet. They make a fabulous tag set for a book. How fun to have them hanging somewhere to see and look through at anytime. I have been keeping mine all separate but now I think maybe a book of tags is on my mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, tags are fun, this way I can't lose them so easily!
DeleteOh Valerie, I know how much you will be aching. I had a lot of falls a couple or so years ago - some in embarrassing situations, with big audiences. Hope you recover soon! I love this beautiful lady - the background is especially lovely! Love the tags, my use of crackle paste is often hit and miss. Beautiful photos - fabulous bright blue Forget - me - nots! Take care and enjoy your weekend Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris, falls are definitely embarrassing and inconvenient. A charming young man helped me up and accompanied me to a bench where I could sit and recover before hobbling home! I love those forget-me-nots, too! Enjoy your weekend!
DeleteBeautifull art. I love it. Happy PPF Frauke

ReplyDeleteBut what a shame to har about your nasty fall. I can well imagine all the grazes and the bruising you are left with. I hope you have good healing flesh and soon feel much better,
