Out of the strong came forth sweetness

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. It's a bank holiday here today, and we had bank holiday weather - cloud, rainy and dull. But I still got out for my walks - at least it wasn't cold!

For Joan's 'Gardening' theme at Tag Tuesday I have one more tag. This is a hybrid tag, made from hand-painted elements,  my photos, illustrations from an old book I have and some elements from Serif, all combined to make a garden in my head again. I am also linking to Paint Party Friday hosted by Eva and Kristin:

This is a very distressed collaged postcard:

We had blue skies on some days, and I enjoyed being out and about in our little town by the Rhine. I am linking to Soma's 'Wandering camera':

I climbed up the stairs in the castle ruins, and admired not only the views, but all of the beautiful wild flowers growing among the stones - 'Out of the strong came forth sweetness':

That's all for today!
Have a great day and a wonderful weekend,
and thanks, as always, for coming by!

  1. Hi Val, love that you used that lovely quote for your title, it's very apt here. The photos of the castle ruin wild flowers are fantastic. The tag is gorgeous, too, such beautiful imagery and I love the postcard with the fun quote. Goodnight! Hugs, Sarah

  8. I recognized the moon and the bird in your tag. Using your own photos makes it so personal and your own. I love it.

I am in AWE of that postcard. I wish I could make art like that for my ICADs, but I don't have those beautiful and creative collage materials. It is fabulous.

I love it when you head to the old castle ruins. The flowers are calming and beautiful, and the crumbling walls and arches take me to a place I'd love to explore. Your photos are fantastic today, dear Valerie.

  13. Great artwork, as always. Currently, my garden is mostly residing in my head, but at least I prepared a couple beds a couple days ago. But it's been so H-O-T and dry here, my hubby isn't so sure I should make the effort this year.

Your photos of the flowers growing in the midst of the ruins are lovely. They speak to me of hope and determination.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear lady!

  34. Oh my goodness - another glowing creation. This head is full of joy and serenity, mysticism, a love of life, a warmth, nostalgia and generosity. Such atmosphere - it made me gasp as I saw it. I love the grungy postcard too, but that magical meditative head has taken my breath away.
