Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well. We had a cold, wet and grey day yesterday, so it was more splashing than walking, but I still managed to get out and about. And the landscape always looks good in the rain!
This colourful piece was made using a giant stamp I cut a couple of years back, it's about the size of a 'real' head. The background was sprayed, dripped and stenciled:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday
And I have some more 42s for the Hitchhikers out there:
These photos were taken in Düsseldorf on one of my walks last week. I spotted this mosaic wall at a kids' playground in the park of the old 'Standes Haus' I showed in my last post:
These wonderful murals are on the walls of a Kindergarten belonging to a catholic church:
Loved this house:
A great window decoration, and I included myself on the 2nd one.
Time for a visit to the playground - my walking buddy Harry having fun:
I enjoyed it, too. Note the ancient walls of our little town in the background - the playground is where the moat used to be:
That's all for today.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

ReplyDeleteYou look like you are having a whole lot of fun on your walk today Valerie. Too bad you had rain but you are right about how it makes the colors just pop. And I love your giant head stamp and the page you made and shared today. It is really cool. Are your fingers doing any better? Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks! Some days my fingers are okay, other times they cramp and give me a lot of pain, and I'm no nearer to an answer!
DeleteGood morning, Your head stamp and page is wonderful, and I really enjoyed all the photos along your walk-neat murals you live in a neat area for walks-that's allot of 42's I missed it what is the significance of the 42s?
ReplyDeleteYou need to read 'Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy', or look it up on Wiki.
DeleteYour walk looks fun as well as interesting. All the photos looked super and the murals will make the area even more interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe 42 doorways looked lovely.
I remember you showing us the head stamp and I love the fantastic page you have created this time.
Yvonne xx.
Thank you for the prompt about the Tag Tuesday theme.
That stamp is wonderful. I am so in awe of how you carved it. It turned out great, too.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at some of the doors and mail boxes at the 42 houses. I have learned all our streets begin in the 100s, so no chance of a 42 anywhere in Wichita.
those playground murals are wonderful and and I loved you and Harry playing on the swings and stepper. Great, great photos today.
Thanks. A lot of our streets don't even get into double digits!
DeleteLovely colourful head for PPF! Those are a lot of 42's, enjoyed your photos today, including those beautiful murals. You look well. It is great to have a walking buddy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful stamp! Loved the 42s especially the blue tile house numbers. The doors are fantastic, too. The Frakwerk house with the turret is awesome. Wouldn't the turret room make a great studio?
ReplyDeleteIt would indeed!

ReplyDeleteLife should definitely be colorful.

All of our street addresses have 4 digits. It'd be fun to see these 42s on actual houses. All that public art would be a treat, brightening things up.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Valerie, and lovely to see you and Harry having fun in the park. I love your art, and that stamp is fabulous. Thanks for the 42's too!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
This stamp is super-Wonderful Valerie !! wooowwww, the biggest I´ve seen ever, and so well done, you amaze me ! Your page is Gorgeous, I love the head of course, and the stencils and colours you have used. The doors are very beautiful, and it´s so good to see how you are having fun on the swings.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice Thursday, and send big hugs,
Caty
Morning Valerie, what a magnificent hand cut stamp she makes a bold print when stamped out. I'm out of the loop with the 42's is it an observation game played whilst out and about? You certainly have captured a real mixture of designs with those 42's. Wishing you a very Happy PPF, I will try and link up tomorrow but will be late due to an early start and appointments. Sending Sunshine & Hugs Tracey xx

I feel like I got to have a refreshing little stroll with you. I wonder what the number 42 has to do with hitch hikers. It was a nice photo montage. Those murals are great and how nice to have a walking buddy. Fun stamp that you made too.
