Hi Everybody!
On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely and talented Joan is hosting. Her them is 'favourite stamp', so this gives you a wide scope to make a tag. I have lots of faves, and one of them is this beautiful 'Leda' (da Vinci) stamp from Lost Coast Designs. I stamped onto tissue which I transferred to patterned paper with a vintage tulip pattern. I added some lace, a TH quote, a flower and a heart brad. I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, vintage / past times:
It's also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T gang. My first photo shows some lovely mugs in a shop window but they were all very expensive, so I didn't buy anything:
Then I went for a coffee at Dulce, a cosy cafe which serves delicious coffees, snacks, ice and very fine home made pralines. As you can see, I spare neither time nor expense visiting cafes to recommend them to you. At the back of the cafe is a little yard with pink tables and chairs, so I am looking forward to sitting there in summer:
I love the little staircase so kids can see over the counter:
Coffee with heart:
As I didn't buy any mugs at the expensive shops, I had a look around the thrift shop in our little town and found 2 beautiful ones, both new, for 50 cents each, a wonderful price:
I love to see the long morning shadows on sunny days:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Val, it's a gorgeous afternoon here, so I'm hoping you're enjoying the same weather to start your week off well. LOVE that wonderful tag, so pretty, and the stamp you used is really beautiful. Great photos from your walks as well, nothing like blue skies and flowers to cheer us up. Enjoy using your new mugs, they are terrific, and what a bargain! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful cafe! I love the flower fairy mugs you found. So sweet :) Such a joy to see Spring flowers :) Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteA very pretty tag and goes so well with your Spring time pics. Thank you for taking us to Dulce. What a fun spot. I wonder if they let short people climb the staircase to choose ice cream flavors? =^,.^= Your new mugs are delightful especially the one with the cats. And just as nice as the one from the expensive shop. You got a great bargain. Happy T Day.
ReplyDeleteGood question! Next time I go there I'll ask!
DeleteI love sunny days, Valerie. And your photos are always fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYour new mugs and lovely and funny.
And I was impressed with your clever technique in making your tag. Stamp on tissue and transfer on patterned paper? Excellent idea! I will definitely try it.
Hugs and kisses, my dear friend.
You just need to paste the tissue with mod podge or Matt medium.
DeleteLovely tag today and beautiful spring flowers! Glad you got those pretty mugs at a bargain.
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty tag Valerie, it's a wonderful composition with that beautiful stamped image. I can imagine those Dunoon mugs being pricey, all the way from Scotland. We spent our honeymoon near Dunoon nearly 28 years ago, it was lovely there. You found some great mugs in the charity shop though, and it's good to recycle.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sunshine, your photos are great!

That is a beautiful stamp. Lovely tag you made with it. hugs, teresa
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful tag Valerie using your favourite stamp. It will be hard for many of us to think of only one favourite to use for this new theme.
ReplyDeleteThe mugs in the window were good to look at, but i think you got the better bargain from the Thrift shop. Those ones you chose I couldn't have passed by either.
Your coffee was nicely presented with the heart in the cream, it must have tasted lovely as well. It looked a super cafe and the step up to see the ice cream is great addition for the kids to see the choices.
Lovely photos again from your walk.
Happy T day wishes Valerie
Yvonne xx
Such a gorgeous tag Valerie...you are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThose two cups were beautiful! Hat a find!
Your photos are always beautiful!
I thank you for a touch of spring.
Hugs ❤
Beautiful artwork and I love that stamp. The cafe looked fantastic. I liked the colored shutters on the buildings across the street. Those bargain mugs you found look lovely. Wonderful photographs of long shadows and Spring flowers growing. My daffodils are just starting to come out of the ground now, but more snow is in the forecast. (Fortunately they are hardly like crocuses, and don't die even if they get covered with snow.) Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteI feel that I should be drinking coffee when reading your fabulous post, but my cup is filled with tea!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the mugs you bought, especially the fairy one.
Great photographs, enjoy your week.
All the best Jan
Oh what a delightful post to read this morning Valerie... thank you for the lovely feeling you engender.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tag, full of heart ... which then sets the tone :D)
I loved seeing your photos of the coffee shop and those sweet mugs from the thrift shop (lovely to get a bargain!). I would have bought them too.
How sweet to see those lovely bulbs emerging - such gorgeous colour and loveliness.
Cheers and I must go and check out the lovely Tea for Tuesday site :D)
Those expensive coffee cups were pretty, but not any prettier than the good finds at the second hand store.
ReplyDeleteLove your tag!
Happy T-day
Hi Val, your posts are always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your newest tag, what a very cute coffee shop, and I really love your second hand store finds-awesome cups!!
Happy T Hugs Kathy
I know that Leonard image. One of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good time -- I don't even like coffee and it looks good. And those mugs are to die for. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite -- they are all too cute!
Spring. Lucky you!
A lovely tag Valerie, the little heart embellishment is lovely. Gorgeous spring photos and the coffee shop looks very child friendly with the little stairs.
ReplyDeleteAvril xx
That's a lovely tag, and even though I have very few stamps, I have that one, too. Yours turned out great with the heart.
ReplyDeleteYour spring is so much earlier than ours this year. I'm just glad we finally got rain. The rest of the state got dumped with up to 11 inches of snow. The long shadows filled the photos with a bit of moodiness.
Your latest place for coffee looks great. I'm with CJ and want to stand on that staircase, too. But I also want to sit in one of those pink chairs. Your heartfelt cappuccino is beautiful and I hope you come back for ice cream, too. Thanks for sharing your tag, your photos from around your town, and your trip to Dulce's with us for T this Tuesday. BTW, I like BOTH the expensive UK mugs and the thrift store bargain mugs. I think you picked well.
Hi Valerie wow i love your tag,its beautiful, well done my friend. I also enjoyed seeing all those pretty coffee mugs and those daffodils are so pretty, thankyou for sharing my friend xx
ReplyDeleteI can certainly see why you chose Da Vinci's Leta as your favorite stamps. It is lovely and elegant. I too have many favorite stamps and it is difficult at times to just choose 1.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty cafe. They do have some lovely mugs for sale. Looks like the perfect place to relax and have a hot cuppa.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
Beautiful stamp for the tag theme, Valerie. I can understand why you name it as one of your favourites, but it is always what the artist does with it that counts! Beautiful places and beautiful bargains!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Wilma!
DeleteHi Valerie, I love those mugs you've bought, they are gorgeous, the ones made in England are a lovely shape, unusual.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos too, looks lovely in the spring sunshine.
Have a great week

Gorgeous tag! The Da Vinci stamp is so beautiful against the pretty flower background and I love your embellishments too 😁. The cafe looks amazing, I enjoyed seeing all the fun mug designs and the heart on top of your coffee is precious 😀. Wishing you a very happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteWoow so so Gorgeous tag Valerie !! It´s fantastique ! I love this beautiful paper, the stamp is great, as the heart, the flower and the lovely lace. I like very much too the sewed design ! Great Art !
ReplyDeleteThe mugs are wonderful ! And the photographs fabulous, thanks so much for sharing them with us. So beautiful places !

Big hugs, Caty
I love your beautiful nostalgic tag, Valerie. The stamp is really special and that little heart is wonderful and charming. Your stitching is great too. It adds such a nice touch to any project.
ReplyDeleteThe mugs are awesome. I don't even drink coffee or tea, but I would have to take one of those home with me if I ever had the opportunity to visit your beautiful country. I want the "keep in touch" one with all the funny cats and dogs ;-)
Happy T-day! Eileen xx
Beautiful artwork and so many signs of spring. Love all of them!
ReplyDeleteI adore the mug with the fairies- so adorable. :) I also think your cappuccino looks delicious. :)
Have a lovely day!
Jess
I love your tag - the Leda image is one of my favourites too! I love nice mugs and love the two you eventually found at a good price! Dulce looks like a great place to have coffee, love the kids step - is it unusual to have signs in English? It looks as though we are all enjoying some warm weather - record temperatures for February here yesterday and your photo look great as usual!! Hugs, Chrisx ps you have me wondering how you got to see Lincoln v Scunthorpe!
ReplyDeleteI lived in Lincoln and then Scunthorpe from 1964 to 1970. There are often signs in English here.
DeleteLove the tag. Those mugs are really fun. And the flowers...wow..so delicate.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
I love your tag Valerie, it really is a beautiful stamp. I can see that you really take one for the team with your visits to coffee shops lol. I love your new animal mug, that would have had to come home with me too! Have a very happy week, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteI did your comment yesterday, but I forgot that comments don't come through on an ipad, so I will comment again.
ReplyDeleteI commented on what a lovely cafe that was. A place where I definitely would like to go. I smiled at the stairway to ice cream. I'm rather short myself and would have been tempted to use it.
I drooled over those beautiful (and expensive) mugs in the window. They cost, but they are really pretty. Then I saw the ones you got in the thrift store, and boy, have you got a bargain! They are stunning. I love the 'Keep in touch' ones.
Of course the photos of the flowers cheered me up no end (not that i am not cheerful, but you know what I mean. )
Yes, your tag is really beautiful. I love that stamp and can imagine that it is one of your favorites.
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca
Gorgeous tag, Valerie!! I love your favorite stamp and all the lovely items you added!
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I are visiting different coffee shops and trying different coffees. I know we would love the cafe you visited!
Lovely that you are able to get pictures of spring flowers - we are to have another round of snow this weekend.
Another one a comment has not gone through, but I do love your fabulous work...xxx
ReplyDelete50 cents a piece is more what I would spend. I love the fairy one.
ReplyDeleteBTW your tag is lovely! Your coffee with a heart was a delight I bet!
I will see you in a couple of days already!
Where does the time go!
I love your heart art piece! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou go to the most amazing places to eat! Love the little stair case! Those mugs you got are so cute!
Glorious pictures! I can't believe all the green you have already! Big Hugs!
