Hi Everybody!
💖Happy Valentine's Day to all who are celebrating it!💖
The weather here has got better since the weekend storms. We had some sunshine the past couple of days, and it should be feeling springlike till the weekend, so it sounds great. I went for the tests the specialist recommended last week, and I am pleased they are now all done. I will be seeing the specialist again on the 25th, so hope to learn more about my blue toes then. In the meantime, I plan to enjoy the good weather coming our way!
At Tag Tuesday our theme is mushrooms / fungi, and I made another fantasy tag. I used a piece of painted paper for the background, and the die-cut gates were in my stash. The images are vintage German scrap, to which I added some re-used textile leaves. I did a bit of sewing round the edges, and have a tag which can stand up by itself:
I am also linking to the Frilly and Funkie challenge, three of something, here, 3 words, 3 leaves, three mushrooms, and to Simon Monday challenge, typography.
I also made a vintage journal spread at art group. The photos show Erika as a child, and I gave them a vintage background and surroundings. The papers used in the background are all pertaining to her family history from the time when she lived in Uruguay:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin.
These are the original photos, taken by a photographer in Hannover, I think about 1918. (Google tried to change the name to 'hangover'!!)
On Monday afternoon the sun came out, so I bundled up and went down to the Rhine to greet it:
Yesterday morning started off cloudy but the sun squeezed itself under the clouds:
And the spring bulbs are showing themselves everywhere:
A blossoming tree:
And the first daisies showed their pretty heads, always a lovely sight:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Good morning Val! I adore your wonderful tag, it's really like looking into a fairy tale, so lovely. The journal page and photos of Erika are wonderful, too. Glad you have had some sunshine, same here, it was great to go out without freezing or being blasted away or rained on! Have a great day, take care, hugs, Sarah

Alles Liebe
Sabine
I do love the tag, and so lovely to see your photographs. It really does look Spring-like, lets hope these spring days last a little bit longer.

ReplyDeleteWow, your artwork is gorgeous! And great photos. I love seeing Spring flowers blooming. I still have snow cover here in the Northeast US, but my daffodils should start growing soon. They are the first signs of Spring growth that I get each year.

Sorry I am way behind this week so I am finally getting around to commenting. It has been crazy for me! That is a great tag and what a precious photo of Erika. It is great and has a slightly more relaxed feel that many images of that time which often seem more stiff. Imagine moving to Uruguay. And you really do have spring. Lucky you, blustery weather be gone. The spring flowers look so beautiful. Happy weekend Valerie. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeletelovely vintage inspired art, and it looks like Spring is blooming in your parts already-lucky you! We just had more snow and ice and it's still all over:( Happy PPF!

Such a pretty tag, I love the vintage feel! It's so lovely to see the spring flowers already, I'm thinking that they may be flowering a bit earlier this year? It was so nice to walk along the Rhine with you and what a beautiful view of the sunrise with the bird window clings in the foreground - stunning 😁. It's turned warmer here too - yay! Happy Friday and Weekend! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteThe first picture of your first tag reminded my of a story I read as a child. "Secret Garden." :) Love it!
ReplyDeleteOld photographs are mesmerizing, aren't they? There's "something" about them that captures the moment and freezes it in time much better than more modern photographs. They evoke emotions in me, even if I don't know the people in the pictures, if that makes any sense.
And then there's YOUR modern photos. Always beautiful, and it looks like it may be safe to tell you, "Happy Spring!" It looks like spring has sprung here, too. (But I wouldn't be surprised if old man winter has a few more surprises in store for us both.)
Have a wonderful weekend!
Happy for you, your weather is warming up and sprouting blossoms.
ReplyDeleteLuv the first tag. Amazing surprise with the opened gate.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. HAPPY PPF
Much🌻love
Such beautiful pieces again Valerie. Erika certainly was a gorgeous child, but it makes me so mad that she had to flee the country. Those Spring flowers are so pretty, I just hope that Winter doesn't come back with a bang! xx
