Hi Everybody!
This will be my last post before Christmas, so I wish all who are celebrating a happy and blessed time. My journal page was made using elements from Mischief Circus, Serif and me:
It's also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all the lovely ladies from the T gang. Today I am showing you the window of the cafe I went into last week:
The table decorations:
And of course, my cappuccino with a spekulatius biscuit:
In another cafe I visited last week - where I finished my drink before I was able to take a picture - the sugar was packed in these nifty little bags:
And this shop has some lovely Christmas crockery on display:
I did some baking last week for my birthday visitors - large cookies filled with dates and marzipan, nougat cookies, and marzipan cookies:
And made some chocolate-muesli choccies and peanut butter cups, which are my fave:
Dark chocolate outside, crunchy peanut butter inside and just a hint of sea-salt:
I also baked a sour cream and blueberry tart:
I love seeing the crows when I go onto my balcony for my morning photos:
And we had a wonderful sunrise with wintry ice-cream colours:
Have a great time, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Compelling words for the season Valerie, wishing you and your nearest and dearest a wonderful Christmas how ever you choose to spend it, make it a magical one.
ReplyDeleteCreative wishes Tracey x
Lovely seeing all of your photographs, that sky is a beautiful colour.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays.
All the best Jan
Hi Valerie Merry Xmas my friend and thankyou for all the beautiful pics you have shared with us today and over the year xx
ReplyDeleteJoy, Love, Peace, Rejoice, Together this Christmas. Your incredible art says it all.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual and fun place for a cappuccino. Wouldn't those displays make great gingerbread houses? I think they are supposed to be that, but obviously NOT edible. Those sugar packets were so very different. I've never seen any like them before.
You know how to treat your friends. It's YOUR birthday and they should be cooking for you. But I want one of those marzipan cookies. They look fabulous, as does the sour cream and blueberry tart. I would DIE for one of those peanut butter cups. You know how to bake, dear.
Lovely photos of the birds and sunrise, too, but most of all, thank you so much for sharing your Christmas/birthday cappuccino with us at T this week. I was SO worried I'd be the only one to show up, and am delighted to see the spoils of your birthday baking.
The gingerbread houses are all edible, but the largest one is several years old now, and just used as a decoration, but they really do make them in this size for people with the money to order them, I can't imagine what they cost! The peanut butter cups are really fabulous, I am going to make some more today!
DeleteMerry Christmas Valerie! Those treats look amazing!
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2019 Valerie, and keep on baking, it all looks amazing, and I can never resist peanut butter! xx
ReplyDeleteNor can I! Thanks for your cards and presents, they just arrived!
DeleteYour holiday photos are just gorgeous! I really enjoy taking this armchair walk with you. Puts me right in the holiday spirit! Especially if we get to stop at your apartment and have some snacks...hint...hint. It ll looks very yummy! I was just looking at a peanut butter cup recipe myself because they look so good. Happy holidays...Merry Christmas. Hope it's a very happy one! Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThat would be a great idea to go for a walk and then stop here for some treats! Enjoy the peanut-butter cups, they are easy and delicious!
DeleteI have really enjoyed my visual walk with you this afternoon. The shop windows look very enticing to make me want to see inside. The cafe looks a wonderful place to stop for a coffee
ReplyDeleteYour cookies and sour cream blueberry tart look delicious. Your friends will have loved the treats you made for them, I think I may have been a bit greedy and tried them all.
I loved your journal page, those words you created the tree with say it all, with maybe 'Peace and Love' meaning the most for many of us this Christmas.
Have a good and happy day Valerie and special Christmas T day wishes for tomorrow.
Yvonne xx
Your page is very lovely. And sums up Christmas. Though I also love the seagulls with their jaunty Santa hats. The store decorations are pretty but can’t hold a candle to the sunrise pictures. Stunning and gorgeous colors. You have been baking up a storm. I’ll be doing some baking today, but nothing as spectacular as your goodies. Froehliche Weihnachten!
ReplyDeleteI love your page, with its perfect words for the season. Your design is delightful. I enjoyed the Christmas-y sights :) and that drink, cookies, and all those baked treats are perfect for the day. Yummm! We sometimes see crows here, but I'd love to see them more often. They are such striking birds. Your sunrise colors! You've got a great vantage point for your photography. Happy early T day, Happy Christmas Eve, and may you have a joyous Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteCrows are very fascinating birds. We have a lot of crows, ravens and gulls here, and they can be very noisy, but I still like them.
DeleteWonderful Christmas art and photos Valerie! Wishing you a very happy Christmas and new year!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Valerie! It's looks like you had a fabulous time with friends - though you did most of the baking - lol. The peanut butter cups make my mouth water. I miss Butterfinger candy bars and am always looking for substitutes.
ReplyDeleteYour "together for Christmas" page is beautiful.
I have a Christmas season birthday too. Mine is today.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
What a lovely page! And a Christmas wish too, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed visiting the cafes and would have stayed half an hour ogling the shop window!
I love those sugar bags that tell you how your coffee is made. Mine is always a large mocha. But I never knew exactly how it was made. (Although I suspected it had chocolate in it)
Your cookies and chocolates are mouthwatering! Especially the choc and peanutbutter chocolate. Yummm.
The sunrise is spectacularly beautiful. Thank you for sharing that.
We have three Christmas birthdays in our family. My cousin has a birthday today, his mother (my auntie) and also my brother-in-law share a birthday on he 27th. So they get a christmas card and a birthday card in one envelope.
Wishing you a very happy and peaceful Christmas,
Hapy T-Day,
Lisca

Sabine 😘
All of your baked goods look yummy! I had the special delight of baking Christmas cookies with four of our grandchildren. Talk about chaotic! But it was a lot of fun. The kids are to-notch cookie decorators. :)

ReplyDeleteOh yes. I love baking but never bake unless I have company!
DeleteBig thanks for catching my Harry Potter typo in my post today! Yup, I knew that but think the word trilogy was just stuck in my head from what I had just written. Happy Friday-hugs-Erika
