Weekend at last

Hi everybody!

It's weekend - have a good one!
I made this journal page at my art group this week. The background was  brayered with a mix of gesso, pink and white. I drew the girl, stamped the flower using my home-made stamp and used various stencils with a grey Pitt pen for the other elements. I did the stitching at home. As I had forgotten to give her eyelashes, I stitched them on. One of the ladies at the group said it didn't look realistic - what a surprise! I am linking to Paint Party Friday and to Simon Monday challenge, summer fun - being at one with nature.

Some impressions from our little town:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Beautiful photos, too, it looks so summery. Mum is coming to stay with us over the weekend, she should be here soon. The kids will be happy! Enjoy your weekend, hugs, Sarah

  20. I think those stitched eyelashes look better than realistic, Great piece of art work Valerie, love how your carved flower covers her eye one eye it makes her look very mysterious. Beautiful town photographs, isn't it amazing how the flowers look so fresh with so much sunshine and little water. I'd love to learn their secret.

  33. I know how very late I am visiting, but I'm trying to catch up today, even though I still have chills and a morbid cough. I wanted to thank you for visiting, because I was too sick to care for a couple of days.

I had to laugh at the woman's comment about the face. I think it is perfect, especially after adding the sewing.

I truly enjoyed all the photos you shared around your lovely town. I was delighted to be able to join you on this walk.
