Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at
Tag Tuesday
As always, you have 2 weeks to join in, and tags of all formats are allowed.
It's my turn to host, and I have chosen 'floral' as our theme, inspired by all the wonderful summer flowers I see everyday. I used an 8" tag, which I covered with some hand-printed paper from Thailand before sewing it in place. The flowers were stamped using one of my hand-carved stamps and fussy cut before arranging them on the tag. Quick and simple!

My second tag is a digital one in summery pinks and yellows. The background was hand painted, the lady is one I drew some years back. Other elements are from Serif. This is also a reminder that you still have a week to join in the 'Things with wings' challenge at TIOT:
Today we're also celebrating the 2nd on the 2nd and T stands for Tuesday
at Elizabeth's blog. I am reshowing some journal pages in my small journal (A5), which I originally showed 2 years back:
At the moment it is Schützenfest (Marksmen's Festival) in our little town, which means bunting, parades, a fair and a lot of activities which all somehow involve beer drinking....Here they were playing really well, so hadn't yet had (m)any 'refreshments'!
A band was playing at the square:
The refreshments are ready - a warm welcome to all of the T group, hope there is enough to go round:
I sat here on a quiet morning and enjoyed my coffee:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Hi Va, this is a really lovely post, full of flowers, beautiful art, and photos showing the fun going on in your little town. Love both tags, especially the one with your home-carved stamps. The 2nd on the 2nd piece is great, too. Have fun with the various challenges and events. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteSuch creative, fun tags and journal page. I love them!
ReplyDeleteA festival. How exciting. Your town looks so clean and appealing.
Hugs
I love your tags very much, allot of textures and depth to them.
ReplyDeleteYour festival looks fun with all of the bands-and I think there is plenty there to serve us all that drink beer.
and I enjoyed the second look-my first-of your journal pages.
Happy second on the 2nd
I love your bold stamps Valerie but I must say that 'In the Pink' definitely gave me a smile too! Love the second look at these journal pages! The photos of the festival looks to be quite a celebration - I'm glad you found somewhere quiet to drink your coffee! Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThose tags are both lovely. I really LOVE the one with your hand carved stamp. You made it sound like it was easy, but fussy cutting is never as easy as it sounds. I especially like how you raised them above the tag for effect.
ReplyDeleteYour pink lady is beautiful and her flowers are wonderful. You do digital well.
I adore your journal pages from your little book you created for a second look. I remember this one well. I remember I had (and still have) stencil envy!
Your summer festival sounds hilarious and may just be the way to start Oktoberfest a few months early. Never hurts to get in a bit of practice (grin). Wonderful photos of the beer, but I'll take the cappuccino instead. I'd gladly join you under that umbrella and admire the flowers on each of the tables, too.
Thanks for sharing your second look on the 2nd AND your cappuccino and photos of beer and the festival with us for T this Tuesday.
The "troops" here keep in practice....there's the carnival season from November till Ash Wednesday, then marksmen festivals throughout the summer and in between they meet up for fun!
ReplyDeleteawesome floral tags. i need to make one! on the journal page -- love the ways you used diamonds. xo
ReplyDeleteThose are gorgeous tags Valerie. I love seeing this new challenge as I have made some floral tags for projects. I guess we are all inspired by the season. ANd it's nice too revisit these posts from your journal. I think you have a great place to enjoy your coffee and watch all the excitement that happens in your area. When I have my morning shake outside I never see people, only squirrels, chipmunks, birds and the dogs. That is good but sometimes a little different view would be nice. happy July. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAnd I would love to see a chipmunk, that would be a sensation!
DeleteI adore them Valerie each time I see your hand carved flower tag it appears to get even more vibrant, it's amazing along with those sweet flowers on and around that Summer Sun Hat. Lovely revisit of your journal page as I get to see it for the first time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's party season down your way !! Are the matching red shoes part of the requirements of the band hee hee!! Awesome attention to the finer detail.
Happy T Day... enjoy!!
Hugs Tracey xx
Those red shoes made me smile, too! Thanks for liking my flowers!

Gorgeous tags and art Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the festival look good, do the bands hope to get a free drink when they play close to the cafe's and bars?
I'll pass on the beer and have a sip if coffee.
Happy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
They get paid to play there and as many free drinks as they can manage!
DeleteLove your tags …
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing your photographs.
Hope you have a lovely week.
All the best Jan
Both of your tags are bright and fun, but I like the pink & yellow one best. The lady's face is gorgeous. Great art page layout too. You certainly do keep busy. Hugs, Teresa

AMAZING. LOVE LOVE LOVE this gorgeous post, the colours and tags are like 'WOW', love those photos too.xx
ReplyDeleteLoved both the tags and the journal pages. The pink tag had me oooing out loud. :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful tags! The brightly coloured flowers that you created are fabulous and your lady is a beauty too 😁. I loved seeing the festival and I could quite happily drink one of those beers ...lol 😉. Your photos really get me in the mood for our carnival weekend which starts this Friday! Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd call your tags "simple," but they sure are pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour festival looks like a lot of fun. This is going to sound a little silly, but I love the red shoes the band is wearing. I love red shoes, and it irks me that it's so much easier to find red shoes for MEN here than it is to find them for... ME! :)
Our little town will be having an all-day festival today for Independence Day. Lots of booths, games, music, arts & crafts, and food. After dark, there will be fireworks. The sun is shining right now, so hopefully, the rain will stay at bay until after the fireworks. Me? I'd just as soon watch the fireworks on TV from the cool comfort of our home, but my hubby loves them.
Those shoes are really mega cool, I would love a pair like that.
DeleteValerie your photos always make me miss Germany more than usual... And all three of your projects are drop dead gorgeous! I have never made a tag... Yours are so lovely but i never know what i would do with it afterwards... What do you do with the ones you make? Happy T day ! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI often use them instead of cards, or you can put them on the wall just like postcards....
DeleteWhat a great festival! There's nothing that can beat this kind of city activity for promoting community goodwill and fellow-feeling. I love that you can have so much activity -bands & such- while still having space for quiet morning coffee. Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post. I love your floral tags. They have a carabean feel to them. So colourful.
ReplyDeleteYour Second on the second, I don't remember having seen that one, so that was good. A beautiful page.
I love seeing photos of your little town of Kaiserswerth. I almost feel that I know it. I'm sure everyone had a good time. And the weather being so nice I can't blame them for having a few beers.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Your tag is very exotic. The flowers remind me of hibiscus. Love the decorations of your town. So colorful and festive. Looks like a lovely place to sip a cup of coffee and listen to the music. Happy T Day
