Friday This and That

Hi Everybody!

This week is racing by, I don't know where the time goes,  it just does!
Hope you and your families and friends are all keeping well and safe.
Today I needed a prescription from the doctor.  I rang up and said what I needed, and was told that the doctor would ring me back. He called me a few minutes later and we had a consultation over the phone. Then he said I could collect my prescription in half an hour. It was duly handed to me  through the window when I got there. 'Corrina' is teaching us new ways! It was much safer than having to sit in a waiting room, and it was much quicker than a normal visit!

For my geometric shapes challenge at AJJ I have a hybrid page. I used my new tag for Tag Tuesday,  digitally magicked onto a painted background with some digital additions from Serif and Mischief circus:

This is the 2nd of the series of 4 tags, each 12 x 5", made for my 'anything goes' challenge at Tag Tuesday. You can see the first one here
if you missed it. The tag was painted, textured and then sewed onto purple card, the dots were added with structure paste and a stencil:

I am also linking to Paint Party Friday and TIOT, fun with stencils.

We have had warm and sunny and often windy weather this week, with wonderful sunrises each day:

I enjoyed my early morning walks along the Rhine and through the fields:

This feather fell down in front of me as I was walking along:

The horse chestnuts are in full bloom:

The blackthorn is beautiful, too:

And I always love dandelions:

The cormorant was on the look out for breakfast:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

What a mess - Rain's Thursday Art Date

Hi Everybody!

Rain's theme today is 'what a mess', and mess is something I am used to, as I am not exactly the tidiest of people to put it mildly!

I made this journal theme for my 'Geometric shapes' challenge at AJJ, and wasn't planning on showing it because it is so messy and chaotic. But, as it fits this theme, I have decided to use it. This started out as an A3 page, which was painted and textured. Then I decided to add some drips. I stenciled the circles, the Mona Lisas and the birds. The drips on the page make it look like Mona has a moustache! Then I stenciled some squares, some of which got some white spots. And just to go completely overboard, I added white spots, spotted washi tape and some text written around the circles. And then I did some sewing round the edges - overkill complete! I am also linking to TIOT, fun with stencils:

And now for some messy photos. In the night from Saturday to Sunday some drunken stupids set fire to one of the old paper containers. The containers were duly collected and will be replaced, but all this mess was left behind:

And the glass containers next to them were overflowing. Corrina seems to make people thirsty!

But when I went past again this afternoon it had all been tidied up and cleaned:

One of the houses on our street is being modernised, and  all the mess, stones and earth are now in the front garden awaiting  collection:

And I can't believe it, but this mess was on my work table when I got up this morning - those naughty elves! Anyway, it has now been tidied again!

And some pics from Pexels:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Midweek Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. We've had sunny weather here, which means lots of people are using their new found freedom to go out, and not all are being careful. I just hope they come to their senses before everything gets worse again.

I have been busy sewing lots of masks, and have gifted them to elderly neighbours. I heard from a lady in a neighbouring house that so many people are scared to go out without them, and there are none to get at short notice. The apothecaries all have long waiting lists, so I hope my home-made masks will tide them over for the time being. I have been using old tee-shirts and napkins to make them.

For my geometric shapes theme at AJJ I have another bright piece in my fave colours. This was actually the first piece I made, and somehow it slipped down to the bottom of the pile. The A3 page was gessoed, textured with a swirl stamp, and painted with acrylics. The circles were applied with a sponge and then I drew around them with black gelatos. I used gelatos for the zigzag lines and diamonds, too. I sewed around the edges and over the washi tape with white thread but it's not easy to see:

These were the first masks I made for myself. I kept going, and in the meantime I was able to distribute more than 20:

And some photos with lots of geometry:
