Beethoven,Bettyhoven and Big Birds

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love,
I made a hybrid page with Beethoven:

This inspired me to try painting him, which I did, but somehow he looks like a cross between Beethoven and my Auntie Betty with a fresh perm, so I think I will call this one 'Bettyhoven'. I am also linking to 99 faces.

And I received a beautiful Valentine's card from my dear friend Carolyn:

Thanks so much, that made my day!

Today it rained nearly all day, the Rhine is very full, but at least the water birds are happy!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Hearts

Hi Everybody!

Today we are beginning a new challenge at Moo Mania and More -
Hearts.
As always, projects of all formats are allowed, so hope that you will take heart and join us there. I made a hybrid page using 'my' head, some photos, and some digital additions. I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love

Today was another rain day, the Rhine is full, but the birds are happy:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Tuesday this and that

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love, I have a hybrid page. The background was painted with terracotta acrylic paint, and the photos and frame were added digitally. The photo shows my great Auntie Fanny in 1918.

Ar TIOT our challenge, 'A fine romance' still has one week to run, so plenty of time to enter. This page is meant for TIOT, 99 faces  and Art Journal Journey.

Today is also T stands for Tuesday at Elizabeth's blog, so a big hello to all of the T Gang.
These 2 pieces are on one of kitchen cupboards, the one where I keep my coffee supplies and cups etc.

This is a page I made a couple of years back with my own coffee poem.

And my drink this week is, of course, coffee - what else?

I love this grungy piece of wall near the castle ruins. The plaster has cracked and fallen off, and the 'insides' are just lovely:

This mossy wall is from a house near the basilica.

And today I found lots of signs of spring coming nearer, although it was a wild, wet and windy day:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Music and love

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love, I have a hybrid page. The background is one of the wonderful sunrise photos taken from my window, overlayed with a romantic silhouette....

The fungi are growing larger day by day:

The water level is still rising thanks to the rain, and
the water fowl are making the best of it:

The gulls were enjoying the wind:

The trees are getting wet feet:

The fire place is almost in the water:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Madame Kisling

Hi Everybody!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

For Art Journal Journey, if music be the food of love, I have an A3 mixed media page, meant also for 99 faces.  I painted the background with acrylics using my scratchy brush. I copied the face from Modigliani's painting of Madame Kisling, which he painted in Paris in 1917. I love his style, and have already copied a lot of his portraits. For me it is a wonderful way to learn how the artist painted. I used a mix of acrylics, water colours and pastel chalks for the face. When it was dry I cut it out and collaged it onto the background. I added my text and some washi tape.

Thi morning we were treated to another wonderful show:

This one was taken through the kitchen window:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
