Hi Everybody!
Hope you are all well and fit, and that you enjoy your weekend. I'm going to take it easy at the weekend, and that's always enjoyable. And I'm happy to say that the big heat has gone somewhere else for the time being and it's pleasant today, so I hope these temps stay with us for a bit! Today I have another piece for Chris's 'when we were young' challenge at AJJ. This is a digital piece, using photos of my mum and me:
My lady today is named after the wonderful song, 'Lily the Pink', a big hit in England back in 1968 /9:
Some funnies/ thinkies:
Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Lovely pages and thanks for the laughs. Glad it is cooling down -Christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, happy weekend!
DeleteBoth of those pages are great. I can see similarities between you and your Mom. And your pink lady is lovely. I don't know the song LIly the PInk, but it is a good name for this sophisticated lady. I hope you have some cool weather and a relaxing weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's cooler and overcast today, too, hope it stays this way! Have a great weekend, hugs!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, roll on Monday for you! Sounds like a busy weekend. Take care, hugs!
DeleteMy word, Valerie, you could interchange those pictures of you and your mom and no-one would ever know the difference. You are so much alike, and both very sweet, of course. There is no doubt about this family relationship. Your "pink lady" is yet another raving beauty you have created for us all to enjoy. You really have a talent for this and there is a very distinctive style to it. What good news that the temperature has become more agreeable. I am sure that helps immensely, especially when you are trying to get a good night's sleep. Last evening I made a brand new dish for dinner with chicken cooked in heavy cream and maple syrup (and more) and served it with rice and lovely green peas, and it was delicious. Miriam had sold a couple of quilts recently so she had picked up a delicious French wine, and dinner was a very pleasant affair. We both agreed that the meal and the wine are on the list to be repeated. We do feel it is our duty to contribute to the local economy, and I am sure you will agree. Miriam really enjoys it when I cook a brand new dish, and just call her to the table when it's time to eat. If you were here, Valerie, a third place would be set, and if you can't drink wine, I would mix some fancy virgin cocktail or something, or perhaps a non-alcohol beer. Ah, dreams! Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteHi David! I was just going to answer your comment this morning when my internet connection flew out of the weather. The company is doing repairs or improvements or whatever till Sep. 8th, so we just have to grin and bear it! I often think my mum is looking at me when I see myself in the bathroom mirror each morning! Your new dish sounds more than good, perhaps you could beam me a portion over if you make it again. I made myself a cheese sandwich this evening, not quite haute cuisine but not bad either. So glad Miriam sold some of her beautiful quilts, that'a worth celebrating! Hae a great weekend, David, eat, drink and be merry! BIG Hugs!
DeleteThank you for providing today's ear worm Lily the Pink. I'm glad the high temperatures have eased for you now. They've eased here too. It's very autumnal. September can be the most pleasant of months. Let's hope so for both of us. Hugs Deb.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, that really is an ear worm, it's going round in my head all day! Let#s hope that September will be beautifull! Hugs!

LOVED that cat. They can sit, lie, and sleep in the most uncomfortable looking positions. I adore the caterpillar who now has wings, too. Have a super weekend, dear Valerie.
Thanks Elizabeth! Lilli the Pink was a fun earworm way back when! My cat used to hng herself over the back of chairs, she looked like a fur collar hanging there. Enjoy your weekend, hugs!
