Hi Everybody!
Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time I am hosting. My theme is spots and/or stripes, you can read more about it on our blog here . I hope lots of people join in. Here I glued a piece of a jelly print made a long time ago onto recycled cardboard. I added the stripes by hand, the spots were made with a stencil:
. The striped legs were on my table, as was the leopard:
This morning early I went with my neighbour to our Aldi store, which is right under the flight path of incoming planes:
They seem to fly so low I'm always scared they will knock down the lights:
Your legs and shoes are fabulous. So is your leopard. Very cleverly created. I lilke the way you added the spots with a stencil, too. I hope you get lots of entries this fortnight. I will try to join in, too.
ReplyDeleteThat plane was CLOSE. Wow. You took some fabulous shots of the trails and the plane.
Thanks, the plane was very close, and loud! Glad you like my tag. It was a quick make because I took over from Wendy at the last minute. I would be VERY happy if you would join in!
DeleteScary those planes and the noise! Lovely page
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I wouldn't want to live there!
DeleteThose planes do appear like they're flying way too low for comfort!
ReplyDeleteLove your stripes and spots challenge.
Hugs and blessings, Valerie.
Thanks Veronica! Yes, they are low, they are just about a mile from their landing point. Sending hugs!
DeleteThat sunrise is especially beautiful with that sweep of pink. My grandparents lived close to the airport -- you're right; it's a little disconcerting to see them fly so low!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. In winter when the trees are bare I can see the planes land!
DeleteNice stripes and spotted art piece. I will be worried too if the plane fly too low and the loud noise will be deafening. Beautiful evening sky shots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. The noise is really deafening! Take care!
Deletegreat clicks..the airplane looks too close!
ReplyDeleteThanks, the planes fly over ver low before they land!
DeleteIt must be a lot of work hosting a challenge! I once lived off the end of the runway at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach. Over 20,000 take offs and landings a week of mainly fighter jets. I swear they used to just take off, circle round, land, and take off again.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. It is a lot of work, but I share it with three other ladies. This time I had to spring in very quickly as one lady was ill, but it's fun! I can imagine how loud those fighter jets were!
DeleteHi Val, good morning. LOVE this page, and little S is really excited about it, she still has my old Noddy books. I am sure she would move in with you in that house! Hugs from us all, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, she would be very welcome! Have a great week! Hugs!
DeleteVery creative and ever so colourful. so pretty x
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie, much appreciated!
DeleteGood grief. Those planes are low.
ReplyDeleteThe design on your piece would make such a cute gift bag.Love it.
Take special care. Hugs
Thanks Sandra, I 'll keep that in mind!
DeleteThat looks like a fun challenge, I'll pop over later and check it out. Those planes do look very low. It reminded me of when I was still teaching and the school got told off as we had some lights like that for the builders and apparently one of the pilots going back to the local airbase though they were his direction lights and ended up 2 miles short of the run way, we did laugh but they didn't think it was funny and the builders had to go home early after that! Happy crafty week, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela, the challenge is fun, I would love you to join in! I think you were lucky that the plane didn't land on the school plaground!
Deleteso magic photos of the sky!
ReplyDeleteThanks, the sky is always so beautiful
Deletei love the nature:)
DeleteI am sure that hosting will keep you busy, Valerie, so tell those fingers to behave, at least for a week! Spots and stripes should be a theme all the crafters can get into; they are probably part of everyone's life in one way or another. Miriam has a polka dot blouse and she looks very fetching in it. I have a shirt with vertical stripes, so between the two of us we fit the bill. Now all we have to do is create something! Oops, forgot that was a requirement! Actually, it's a good thing I don't have to create anything; I have a busy week ahead of me. Busy with good stuff, but busy nonetheless. I led a bird walk this morning and it was pleasant and refreshingly cool to be out. Nothing exceptional in the way of birds, but a good variety of the species you would expect to see in early August. Take good care. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteHi David, glad you had a good bird walk. You could make a photo of your shirt and Miriam's blouse and see if it fits our challenge. That would be something! Good that you have lots of good things to look forward to. Had a lazy day here, did some crafting, and went for an hour to visit a friend who lives round the corner. And from all that I didn't do I'm tired! Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteVery interesting tag Valerie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog today
Much💖love
Thanks Gillena, nice to see you again!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I have a little tiger at home :) We have my daughter's cat. It's amazing when the planes are so close. Have a nice day:)
Yes, and I know how you love your little tiger! Have a great day!
DeleteSigns of so _many_ planes! I can imagine how loud it must be!
ReplyDeleteIt is deafening there on the parking deck!
DeleteBeautiful bright happy colours and love the stripes in the legs and all the spots..great theme..
ReplyDeleteLuv CHRISSYxx
Thanks Chrissy, hugs!
DeleteHow strange you should talk about planes flying low. My other half showed me a film of a plane landing somewhere and people had to duck as it flew overhead. Obviously coming in to land
ReplyDeleteLove your spots and stripes, those are great legs with the boots and stripey socks and I don't think a leopard ever changes his spots, well maybe one or two.
Hugs, Neet xx
Funny coincidence! It's sometimes scary when the planes c one so nead! Huhs!
