Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well! Here we're having strange weather - cloudy and very close, but no rain, at least that's something! Today I am sharing an A3 painting which I am linking to Mia's fish challenge at AJJ and to Rain's TAD, where the theme is colourful June - yellow. The gulls are from a freebie sheet from the Graphics Fairy, I fussy cut and collaged them. I call this piece 'The worlds above and below'. I hope the gulls don't catch the fishes!
As you can see, the last fish is yellow. But there's more to come! Yellow is not really my colour, but I have some artwork with at least some yellow. The Buddha is a hand carved stamp:
The apples are also hand cut stamps:
The cake looks yellow:
And the yummy Pizza:
My fave flowers:
Morning sunrise from my balcony:
Well, if you've made it til now, well done, give yourself a pat on the back and make a cup of tea/coffee or whatever!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
I like the Buddha piece and the first piece, they are all so beautiful.

Thanks Quinley, have a great day!
DeleteYou're definitely rocking the yellow! I love your fish piece and the woven paper houses are wonderful. Glorious blooms, too. Very happy yellow!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanie. Yellow is a happy colour, but I can't wear it!
DeleteI agree. I hope those gulls don't eat the fish. But it's a fun piece and some fun fish. And it is also fun to see all the yellow art you shared, and the yellow cake too. I've learned to like yellow better than I used to. THis post is bright and full of sunshine. Have a great new day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThanks Erika, yellow is a difficult colour to use although its so beautifu!
DeleteLovely art and a beautiful sunrise capture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, sunrise here is always spectacular!
DeleteLook like you had fun creating.

I did indeed, and now I am drinking my coffee!
DeleteHi Val, dood morning! I love your waters worlds, and I , too, hope that the gulls don't get your pretty fishes. Have a great day, take care. All is well here, hugs, Sarah

ReplyDeleteThanks Martyna, you have a great day, too!
DeleteFabulous art pages and photos Valerie. Yellow is not a colour I use very much but I have become more aware of it recently with it being a colour on the flag of Ukraine.
ReplyDeleteHave a good rest of the week.
Yvonne xx
Yes, I think we've all become more aware of yellow these days. Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteAs you might imagine, Valerie, I am rooting for the gulls to catch the fish. I bet many of them never had such a coloured seafood snack. Maybe you will mix up a little tartar sauce for them to go along with the fish, and we all know that gulls are partial to chips, so a side order of French fries would be good too. Lots of yellow in this post to continue to remind us of the epic struggle taking place in Ukraine, where a 21st Century madman is being permitted to destroy a country, and in the process conduct a campaign of ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. If he has fish for dinner I hope he chokes on the bones. Today I will be doing a presentation on owls, but I doubt that it will be recorded, but I will ask, and if it is I will forward the link. Some of the others I have done were recorded but the link was only available for a month. It's mid week. Enjoy the rest of it. Hugs and kisses - David
ReplyDeleteI thought you would be on the side of the gulls! As far as I am concerned they could gladly pick clean the bones of that madman! Have fun with your owl presentation, and if it's being recorded, please send the link! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
DeleteWhat a wonderful selection of colours and textures, just fabulous fun art work..

DeleteDelicious eye candy to look at on a dreary day. Waiting for the sun to peek out before more rain. Take care.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rainy day here, too. Got rained on twice while I was out!
DeleteWhy isn't yellow your color? I love yellow. The Golden Shower Trees in Hawaii are spectacular. Gigi hawaii
ReplyDeleteI like yellow, too, but I don't like wearing it!
DeleteGreat post Valerie. I smiled when you said yellow wasn't really your colour as I've always found it difficult to use, I'm not even keen on yellow flowers in the garden but not sure why. Loving your new fish and I managed to look at all those yellow flowers Lol! However the yellow cake and Pizza look scrummy yellow or not! Have a lovely day. Hugs, Angela xXx
ReplyDeleteThanks, had to smile at what you wrote, I done know why yellow is difficult, it just is! Have a great day, take card! Hugs!

Thanks, See you tomorrow!
DeleteWow- so much wonderful art!! Love your hand carved Buddha, and the page with the fish is so fun. So much sunshine here with the glorious yellows, and delicious food is a plus too.
ReplyDeleteFood and Art are what we need!
Deletelove your fish art. That is what I like to watch when I am out to the lakes. Of course the fish is hard to see. :) Hard to pick a favourite fronm the other art and nature. But I think I go for the Head silhouette. It is gorgeous! Like the rest of them too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Monica, that head is my fave, too!
DeleteLove your fish and birds. This is a really clever entry and great for Mia's theme at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteYou have a LOT of yellow options. I remember many of them, but some are new. You use more yellow than I do, so I was really impressed by this amount of items you were able to share this week at Rain's.
The yellow ones may be you to you, but they are very old! Have a great day, hugs!
DeleteBeautiful, Valerie! I love the seagull pieces, and it brings back so many memories from my Maritime childhood (and all the years since). Yours are vibrant, alive, and lifelike. And your yellow art and flowers just lift my spirits. The bullfighting one was an important comment on a sport that's incomprehensible to me. Hugs to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteBullfighting is barbarous, it's one of those things that sickens me. I grew up in London, by the Docks, and there we're always seagulls screaming around. Now I live by the Rhine and the gulls are once again omnipresent!
DeleteYour art is so unique and creative and beautiful and then with all of the subtle wisdom you add to it, it is the complete experience. As for the Seagull eating your fish ... I have seen a seagull down a rather large fish in one gulp, but your not so little fishies are big enough, I think, to avoid that outcome. I have two favorites The head with the sunshine and flowers and the pouty woman who is making magic. Love them both ... actually love all your pieces, but those to seem to speak to me. I am also a lover of dandelions. I know it is politically correct to not want them in your yard, but I do think they are one of the prettiest wildflowers and it always pains me to see people killing them with weed killers. All of your photos of flowers are lovely. Like you, I couldn't walk past a flower without taking a picture ... I just love nature, as do you. Always a pleasure, Valerie ... until next week, stay well, breath deeply and enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From the Sol
Thanks Andrea. Nature is always fascinating. I came home today to hear the crows giving their warning call and then I saw a great blue heron in the tree behind the yard, and the crows kept making their noise until the heron flew back to the stream. Then it was quiet again. And the whole shout out didn't interest the bunnies eating the neighbours flowers.. Nature is always around us! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
DeleteA lot of nice Antwork.
ReplyDeleteDanke Heidrun!
DeleteThis page made me smile Valerie. I think the gulls may well catch the fish....unless anyone around has some fish and chips - lots of stories of folk being attacked by gulls in seaside towns! Love your yellow art, flowers and skies. As you can see I'm on catch up again. Hugs, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms and beautiful art Valerie!
ReplyDeleteOMG pizza and cheesecake!!! I want lol! ☺☺ The flower photos are so beautiful, and your art on this post Valerie. Very very great. I love the message of the "killing for fun" piece. I hate bull fighting, any kind of animal fighting, ugh. Your happy fish are so cute!!
