Hi Everybody!
The sun is shining again as I write this, so I'm hoping it's a good sign and that the rainy and windy weather we have been 'enjoying' these past days will soon move elsewhere. I can't write much just now, as I am having problems with very painful fingers, so my comments on your blogs may be shorter than usual this week. I am glad that I have all my tags and artwork for the next few weeks ready, as I can't do anything just now.
For Tag Tuesday I have another bunny tag, this time using images from Beatrix Potter's wonderful illustrations. I used a collage sheet from Gecko Galz and some images from Serif:
This is one of the large (A3- about 12 x 17" ) mixed media / collaged journal pages I have been making in past weeks at art group. On a gessoed and painted background I collaged tissue scraps one over the other, and an old and tattered postcard that I found in one of my boxes. I added lots of sewing, some colourful dots and a stenciled quote. The others in this series also have textiles added, and I will show them bit by bit in the next couple of weeks:
Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang. A new coffee roaster and cafe has opened here, and the coffee is really good:
I hope the horses can read the pictographs - I sometimes wonder if our little town has no more important things to think about:
More spring photos:
The little stream next to the house is very full:
As is the pathway - thank goodness for wellies:
Violets growing out of cracks in the pavement:
More spring decorations:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
Pray that your fingers feel better soon Valerie, sorry to hear that. Your bunny tag is so sweet and the pages are beautiful. Thanks for sharing the spring photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Christine!
DeleteI hope those fingers feel better soon. It must be frustrating not being able to do art and probably much else so fingers are so important, aren't they? Loving the sweet bunny tag and loving the art journaling too. I was curious about the quote. If it is stenciled, hand written or a stamp? I LOVE the big bold letters. They work so well with all the cool images. And nice stitching too. Hope it's a happy T day. I won't be there this week and would rather be but family duty calls. Happy new week. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteThe quote is a stencil, I have it in various sizes.
DeleteGorgeous tag, so sweet, and the journal page is brilliant, love all the colourful images and the big, bold quote. Wonderful! Had to laugh about the crossing for horses, oh my! Hope your poor fingers soon feel better, make sure you rest them. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteI love trying new coffee shops, especially ones with outdoor seating. The street directions are big and bold! The horses can't miss them lol Your beautiful springtime scenes with all the lovely blooms are promising :) for good weather to come. I'm so sorry about your fingers. It must be hard to have such talent and not be able to work with your art.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day!

How awful to have such pain in your fingers along with such artistic talent. I hope you get some relief soon, Valerie. In the meantime, you managed to create a wonderful Beatrix Potter tag. The Beatrix Potter illustrations are amazing you've made a fabulous tag with that Peter Rabbit Valerie. I believe I am the dreamer from your journal words hee hee!! Look forward to seeing what else comes to be with those extra added textiles. You know how I love them.
ReplyDeleteYour so right about the signs, I often think how much they cost to think, create and laydown when we know a simple stencil and spray paint would do just as good a job!
I bet that Coffee shop smells delicious.
Hugs for the day Tracey xx
P.S Hope the pain in your fingers gives you a break soon, I'm always very happy to see you over at my place no matter how short or long the visit. Take Care & sorry i'm late again, been busy with vets & issues with her new medication which seems to eat away most of the day xx
