Hi Everybody!
We are having a stormy week here, with lots of rain and much cooler temperatures, but it's not having much impact on the growing vegetation, and it's greening up everywhere nicely. We just have to take the weather as it comes!
I have managed to finish 2 little books this week. I have been working on them off and on at art group for a few weeks, but sometimes we spend more time talking, eating cookies and drinking coffee than working, so it's been slow progress. This is the first one, which didn't turn out quite as I would have liked it, but it's okay. I used some chip-board pieces from LaBlanche, which were painted white, party collaged with napkin scraps, stenciled and then varnished. The reverse side of each chipboard piece was painted white, and then decorated with an ornament stenciled with embossing paste coloured with antiquing wax, and finally given a little sewn and decorated pocket:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday
and to Simon Wednesday Challenge, whatever the weather and to
Mini Album Makers challenge (thanks Tracey!)
And I have a hybrid tag meant for Tag Tuesday, Wilma's challenge of 'Hares and rabbits', using elements from Serif and me:
A few photos from my walks:
The weeping willow is getting green:
This tree made me think of an owl watching me:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
A gorgeous little book and I love your tag, the little bunnies are so cute, your photos are beautiful as always.
ReplyDeletexxx Hazel.
Thanks Hazel!
DeleteI am in love with your little book, so many beautiful details to see, it's really gorgeous. And the tag is totally sweet, what lovely bunnies. Great photos, too. It's cold, wet and windy here, good weather to stay home! Have a great evening, hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous little book, you have added amazing details to the pages and I really liked the little pocked to add even more pieces.
ReplyDeleteThe photo from your walk look lovely and I liked the tree that made you think an owl was looking at you, the eye sure seemed to be focusing on something.
Oh and I loved your rabbit tag as well.
Yvonne xx
Such sweet books Valerie! A most beautiful gift for any age, and sturdy enough to withstand little fingers turning the pages constantly. I love the hen and also that cute lamb face. You've done a wonderful job of creating them.
ReplyDeleteYes, being with an art group is lovely - ours too involves much chatting, laughter, drinking of tea etc... so nice :D)
I love that bunny in your header.
Gorgeous blossoms and, yes, the weeping willow is looking superb with its graceful arms.
Pretty flowers in baskets, such a happy walk even with not so nice weather. Very true, we must take what the weather decides to do but we can always make each day happy with a laugh. Hugs xx
Happy PPF! :D) xx

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful animals in the book! Love it! Here it's stormy and rainy, too. Some green is already there, but not as much as close to the Rhine.
ReplyDeleteYes, same weather everywhere Just now
DeleteI love all the photos! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe books are wonderful Valerie and I like the way you fastened the pages together.
ReplyDeleteAnother terrific tag with an old fashioned look and a great rabbit image.
What wonderful photographs. Your weather doesn't sound so good but the trees are way ahead of ours and look fantastic. The tree with the 'owl' watching is so true. It does look just like the eye of an owl
Have a great day
Love Chrissie xx
Yes, that tree is really funny, it watches me and I watch it, too!
DeleteLOVE your walking photos, and these albums are fantastically artsy with all the painting and touch ups of ephemera...nice white space too...always hard for me. LOVE the organic feel as well. Great to stop by.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anita, I always struggle with white space, too!
DeleteCute book and the tag would make an awesome Easter card. We are so far behind compared to your Spring. Such colors! I love the basket of primroses with the mini-grape hyacinths. And the owl in the tree. What a hoot! =^,.^= Enjoy your day!

DeleteI think your books are adorable. Makes me wonder how they differed from your expectations, if you say they didn't turn out as you'd hoped. I especially like the lamb's face... so cute and mischievous looking. And all of your artwork and photos just scream, "SPRING!" (Can't you hear them...? HA!)
ReplyDeleteWe're having a lovely little drizzle here this morning. It sounds so dreamy against the roof and windows, I wonder why I'm not still nestled under the covers... But we definitely need the rain. Our pollen count is really high.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I was hoping for a more vintage look....But the little girl I made it for is delighted with it, so that's the main thing! Lots of rain here, too, but it looks so green and fresh and that's just great!
DeleteThose little books are sweet. I love the one with the chickens. Darling bunny tag too. hugs, Teresa

Sabine
Divine of your creative artworks and very colorful spring photos ~ and love, love, love your header and the lamb creation ~ ^_^

first I love your pictures, you look like you live in a beautiful place. The books are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour booklet came out great! I especially love the page with all the birds and that little lamb is just too cute. Lovely tag too! We don't have any "green" coming up here yet- but there is more warmth in the air- so I know it will be coming. Can't wait for winter to be totally over and see spring shooting up. Your pictures make me hopeful.
ReplyDeleteI totally see the owl in that tree. So cool!
~Jess
Love your book and the paintings with chickens. I raised them for years and miss that I can't any longer. They will always have a special place in my heart.
