Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well.
Today I am sharing 2 journal spreads made in the past couple of weeks. I am enjoying using lots of colour and some of my Jane Davenport goodies. Here I used some bits of tissue paper and 2 different sorts of washi tape. Stencils were used to add the hearts and stars. The 'eye candy' is a die from JD. The background was painted with water colours and I added some splodges with it, too. I am linking to Paint Party Friday, and Simon Monday challenge, use more than one stencil.
The second spread was just made for fun. I drew the girls with water colours. The words are from Dina Wakley, the old girls from TH
After visiting Neviges and the Mariendom (photos were shown in the previous posts) we visited this beautiful little lake at a place called Abtsküche (Abbots kitchen). There used to be a priory here, and a house where food was cooked for the Abbot and his brothers:
Can you see what's on that log?
I counted 14 turtles in all - I have never seen so many at once!
More photos from our visit to Abtsküche to follow!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
The photos of your excursion are so lovely. How fun to see both the towns and then the glorious countryside. What a pretty lake.
ReplyDeleteI love your fun and colourful journal pages, especially the first one. Great photos, too, that was a fantastic place you visited. That's astonishing to see so many turtles together, and they seem to get along well with the ducks. Have a nice afternoon and evening. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteThe journal pages are fun. The thought balloons of the old gals cracked me up. Such beautiful scenery. I like all the critters just hanging out holding onto the last days of Summer. Oh, wait, that might be just me. =^,.^= Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you and a few million others!
ReplyDeleteI love your scenic waterside photos. Those turtles have found a good sunning spot, haven't they! :)
ReplyDeleteHello dear Valerie!
ReplyDeleteWow!Your journal pages are stunning! Love your watercolor girls and the two ladies!
Your walk at the lake was so pleasant seeing the swan, the ducks and all those cute turrets!

ReplyDeleteThose spread pages are so gorgeous Valerie !! Love them, the colours of the first page are so beautiful, bright and funny, like the ladies of your second spread page. Magnifique are the photographs, thank you very much for sharing them, love these turtles.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice evening, big hugs, Caty
Looks as if you are indeed having loads of fun with your JD goodies, love the spirited girls on the second page too, they really look spirited and the old ones seem to be indulging them kindly....
ReplyDeleteLovely photos again, those turtles look amazing! I had no idea there were wild turtles in your part of the world.
There are some, but they are an endangered species. Up till now I have just seen lone ones, but never so many as here.
DeleteJust love all of your photographs, but 14 turtles in all! Amazing :)
ReplyDeleteHappy mid-week wishes.
All the best Jan
One of our smaller islands is a place where Turtles come year after year to give birth/hatch eggs whatever and when it happens there are many small baby turtles struggling from the beach nest to the water. Google Mamanuca Islands Turtle Hatching tells about it.
ReplyDeleteI googled it, thanks, so fascinating
DeleteYour journal pages are both lovely and wonderful! "Eye Candy" is "eye catching" :)
ReplyDeleteLove those photos!!!
Such a beautiful place and lake. So many turtles!
Have a lovely rest of the week...Hugs ❤
Fabulous journal pages Valerie, I think you are having fun using your Jane Davenport goodies. The second page has me smiling at the more mature ladies talking about the young ones.
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised to see the turtles, I don't know why, but I didn't think they would be found in the wild in Europe. So I learn't something new here today.
The photos were all good to see, it looks a lovely area to visit and take a walk.
