Hi Everybody!
It's nearly weekend, enjoy!
I have a vintage journal page to share today. Some time about 2 years back, a friend sent me an envelope full of scraps with the instructions to make a journal page out of them. Recently I found the envelope again, so I tipped them out onto the table and started to organise them. I used a 12" x 12" page as substrate. I painted it with some left over rust colour, stamped it randomly with a script stamp, and then added the images, including a couple of bits that were already on the messy table. I did some sewing after lightly gluing the pieces in place:
And I made another tag for Wilma's peace challenge at Tag Tuesday, where we are remembering the events of 9.11.2001. I used one of my hand-carved stamps and a Buddha quote to make the tag:
I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin.
And I have some more photos of the lake at Abtsküche to share:
The 2 cygnets on the left are as big as the swan already:
The Church and old school house on the other side of the road, I will show what we saw there another time:
A tower, a remnant of the fortified building that was there in the 14th century. I was almost expecting Rapunzel to look out....
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
A great find from your friend and a fabulous result, I love anything vintage and this is right up my ally. Your glorious photos are so refreshing and I wish you a fab weekend...seems they are coming around way too quickly or are we just busy...xx

A wonderful vintage page Valerie and agreat idea your friend had to send the things so you could use them in that way. The tag is very beautiful and has a peaceful look to it even before we read the words.
ReplyDeleteSuch a peaceful place you found in your photographs as well. They are all so clear ans crisp and the one with the close up of the swan is amazing
Have a great weekend
Love Chrissie xx
That is a great vintage page. I love the the TH boy sits in the design and really umps off the page. And I do like your tag. What a great Buddha stamp. I need to find some art time and make a tag this time. I just haven't had a lot of art time lately. And you are right about expecting Rapunzel to look out of the tower. It's exactly what I would expect her to be in. Have a great weekend Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteFantastic page and tag. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job "salvaging" those scraps to make a lovely page of disparate elements that work beautifully together.
ReplyDeleteIt's neat that you've gotten to watch those swans grow up. They've grown as fast as my grandchildren have...
Love that tower, too. Lots of architecture around your way to capture the imagination.

Impressive Page Valerie.Even the layout exudes vintage. Love the quote on the tag. Very true. The swan is beautiful. Very partial to swans.Graceful. Popped down to your previous post to view the other photos of the lake. Ducks and especially turtles everywhere. Visited the post of the church as well. Very unusual and Very impressive.
