Hi everybody!
I have been playing around in my giant journal (60x44" spread) again this week. I put the journal away about 2 years back as I wasn't feeling well, and didn't want to go near it for a long time, but now I have taken it up again and am finishing off pages I started then. This one is very colourful, as I have made it for Conny's 'Mix it monthly'. She wants to see pink, blue and green, children and graphic patterns, so I have made a mixed media paint collage where all the elements have been incorporated. 'Just do it' is, I think, a message for me - to get on and finish all these unfinished pages, and brighten them up with happy colours instead of the sludgy ones they had before!
The postcard I placed in it is from Edward Hopper.

Linking also to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always, by Eva and Kristin.
On Tuesday it was misty and drizzled all day, taking all the colour out of the world:
Yesterday - Wednesday- was cold but sunny, making an amazing contrast:
I wonder why the gulls always look in the same direction? Am I missing something?
Have a good day, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!
Amazing photographs Valerie--always look for those first but I must say that the pages drew me in as well lol. I think the seagulls always facing the same way is something to do with the wind ruffling their feathers but don't quote me on that.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine what it must be like to start on a spread as large as the one you have made.It is all wonderful with the fabulous colours and the many things to look at more closely. Love the phrase 'just do it'--I use it often but add 'Right' at the end of it that makes it sound more urgent.:)
Have a wonderful day
Love Chrissie x
Love your journal pages, and the colours you have used. That is a very fascinating mix of people and stuff! The photos are wonderful, as always, I love seing the world through your eyes. Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteMorning Valerie, your colourful pages have certainly woken me up and I do love the photo of the gulls. I'm sitting here feeling exhausted after spending nearly two, whole days tidying the house (I know, your worst nightmare, lol) but it was worth the effort! Better get my bum in gear tho as I've an all day fair this weekend! Have a nice day. Xx
ReplyDeleteTwo days of H*******K??? I feel shattered just thinking of it! Good luck at the fair!

Interesting question about the gulls. Lovely giant pages!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerie, It is so refreshing to be greeted by your colorful journal pages this morning. You just know what to pull together and it always works. Love the pics and the two with the mist on the water is beautiful. What a great wall piece that would make.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Hugs
The journal pages are fabulous, I love all the awesome details, the flowers on the lion, the awesome message (was that meant for me, lol?) Your mind works in such a fascinating way, I love all the elements that don't seem to belong together at all, until you bring them together so skillfully, you always amaze me! Love the beautiful photos too, even the one where you were eavesdropping on those gulls, they must have been discussing something or someone. ~Diane
ReplyDeleteGossip gulls? A snitch and bitch group? Good possibility!
DeleteFabulous pages, great colour and thank you for sharing such wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteStunning pages Val. I love all those beautiful pictures ,but the one of the clear skies and the moon shining through the trees has blown me away. I have never seen anything like it. Hugs Rita xxx

Oh my, Valerie, this is definitely colourful. It would be a great painting to have on a studio wall with so much happy inspiration. I love all the little flowers, the wise lion in the suit and the flowery-haired lion.
ReplyDeleteI also like the Rhine in mist, makes me feel at home (the mist, not the Rhine).
Loving your colourful and fun pages Valerie, thank you for sharing those great photos. Happy PPF, Annette x
ReplyDeleteLovely photo's once again, I especially like the one with the seagulls. Yeah, why do they do that...

ReplyDeleteDeine Mondbilder sind auch beeindruckend. Ja, die Natur macht einfach ihr Ding und man steht nur daneben und kann Bilder machen. Ich liebe das auch sehr,

ReplyDeleteLove your journal pages, the lion is wonderful, it made me smile with its hippy flower garland, you are right about the seagulls, they do always look the same way!! I think it warrants a scientific investigation!! :)
