Hatter's Challenge Xmas Cards

Hi everybody. Hope you are all well and fit. I spent yesterday with a friend, and when I got home I just had time to have a try at my Xmas cards. I have a whole packet of purple cards and envelopes - which look blue in the photos - and decided to try out some simple cards just using die-cuts made from silver foil, a few vintage images and some matching ribbons. I am not happy with them, and will not be making any more like this. Ah well, we live and learn! And at least I now know what I do not want to do for Xmas cards....How good that there is still plenty of time! I think the colours are so strange because it was just starting to get dark outside.

I am linking to the 'Out of Hat' Challenge.

Have a nice day you all, take care, and thanks for coming by.

  5. I don't know Valerie - perhaps it's because they are purple you don't like them. The designs are stunning I think. Love your die cuts, What if they were on white a white background with white ribbon? Love the designs. I would love to think up something absolutely divine for Christmas - having issues with that too. Hope you have a fun day. hugs, Donna

  6. Hi Valerie, I bet if you put these away for a week and then looked at them you would see what we all see. Fabulous designs. Love the foil cut outs and the embellishments. You already know I am a fan of scraps. I am imagining these on a shelf with the candle or fire light reflecting off the foil. They will look magical.
Thank you so much for sharing with the Hatters again this week.
    Regards Florence x

  9. These are much better than you think Valerie, I know they are not your usual fare but they really do look good. The paper looks like it has a nice sparkle to it and the foil mixed with Santas looks very pretty. I think we are always too hard on ourselves.

  20. Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh, Christmas cards!!!!

The die cuts are great and I really like the effect of doing them with foil - I wonder what they'd look like with alcohol inks.....?

You're right, we do live and learn, and work out what we like and what we don't. You might not be too happy with them but I bet you still had fun playing, eh?!

    xx
