Monday Mix

Hi Everybody!

Here it is still very hot and humid, but we are hoping for some cooler weather from Tuesday on - I am looking forward to it! My apartment is just unbearably hot.

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is, I have a hybrid page. It was put together using a painted background,  a photo taken near here, and a digi stamp from Day for Daisies, which was hand coloured with Gelatos. And not to forget my balcony blackbird, who likes to be shown on lots of pages.

There must have been some rain in the night, because as the sun rose this morning, the fields were steaming:

Some pictures from my walk:

Goya was on the Rhine again:

This black beetle crossed my path:

The cormorant was watching out for fish:

I love this street by the Basilica:

And this is the first time I have seen red and white striped hollyhocks:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Flip-flop

Hi Everybody!

It's been another hot and muggy day here.
It was too hot to cook so I've been eating fruit and salad, all cold and juicy!

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is - Yvonne's lovely and very popular theme,  I am showing a spread from my 'old' new journal. I used a picture I cut out of the newspaper some time back, coloured the page with Gelatos to match and added the words.

This was the sky yesterday evening, very impressive!

I visited the horses again on my walk:

I always enjoy the flowers growing along the Rhine:

And I am wondering how the owner of this shoe, which was on a wall by the Basilica, got home:

Have a great day you all, take care, and stay safe -
this world keeps getting scarier and scarier!
Thanks a lot for coming by!

Trying to stay cool.....

Hi Everybody!

After weeks of rain we are now experiencing a heat wave, so I'm doing my
best to find shady places to cool off. It's 34° outside, and 32° inside,
so it's not so easy!

My journal page for Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is, was made with one of my 10 minute paintings. The quote is from Luke's Gospel.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday.

Inspired by:

And I have been doodling every evening, my journal is nearly full. Here is a double page. The background was brayered with some left over paint :

I wanted her to look like a Chinese 'lucky cat':

The day started off with a lovely sunrise:

Shady places where I would like to be:

Blue water and skies:

And a butterfly who would not oblige me by opening both wings:(

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A Rose, Shakespeare and more....

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is, I have a double spread in my new journal no. 2. The background was painted, and then stamped with a scripts stamp and a frame stamp. The criss-cross strips in the background were cut from an ancient book, and Shakespeare arrived in my mail box in a prospect. Then I added the rose and butterfly transfers and some white spray and wrote the well known text.

Today was very hot, but at the Rhine it was pleasant. This ship was so long that I couldn't get it onto one photo, and then I saw it was made up of 2 ships fixed together in the middle - hope they don't need to go round any narrow bends!

The crew were having breakfast:

The people on this boat were also enjoying the river:

I watched this crane going up and up and up....

And this fungus has grown in a couple of days:

Here it looks like a squashed nose and fleshy lips - ugh!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
