Hi Everybody!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's still much too hot here for my liking, feels like we've dropped into the tropics!
Each Tuesday we start a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Joan is hosting, and has chosen the theme of 'A night at the movies', and she has 2 wonderful tags to inspire you on our blog. I made a rather quick and desperate tag - it's too hot for crafting! I used DP, die-cuts and some TH tickets:
On Tuesday we are also starting a new challenge at More Mixed Media. As always, our challenges are anything goes, this time with optional purple, so I hope you will be able to play along. You have a whole month to join in. Projects of all formats are allowed. I made a mixed media, hybrid piece on a canvas background, adding the cake, teapot and cup digitally. This also fits nicely to Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the T Gang, too.
A few days back my friend N invited me to lunch. For starters we had delicious asparagus cream soup. My drink was water:
And she served coffee and cookies for dessert:
Last week I was out and about in neighbouring towns with my buddy G. We visited this old water tower, with a funky water museum attached:
Lots of old machinery from the tower:
Then we walked though the beautiful gardens of the little old palace next to it:
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks, as always, for coming by!
Oh my goodness, that's a cool tour and I love the watch tower building - very fun! I love your soup as well ~ yummy! Such a fun tour you've taken us on - TFS!
ReplyDeleteI love your movie die cuts and your mixed media page just made me smile. Too fun to use the cupcake as the top hat of the gentleman. Lunch with your friend looked delicious. I love her blue and white plates, too. I enjoyed the walk through the castle gardens. I thought the castle turret would make a great studio. Happy T Day
ReplyDeleteJust loved the tag! The water tower is fascinating - love to draw it if I had time. I am the World's worst linguist ... but ... spargel is the one word I always remember. A German waitress asked what was the English word for spargel? When I replied asparagus, she laughed and laughed believing it was a word I had made up!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!
DeleteValerie, if you can craft like this when "it's too hot for crafting!"...what beautiful craft projects you must create when it's cool!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat tags...fantastic and gorgeous art!!!
Your photos are always stunning! I want to live in that water tower!!! WOW! I love it!!!
Big Hugs

ReplyDeleteYour asparagus cream soup looks yummy, and the gardens look a delight.
Enjoyed your post.
All the best Jan
Your night at the movies tag is wonderful. I really, really enjoyed it, even though it was too hot to craft.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I loved the MMM entry. The cupcake was incredible, but the teacup with Earl Gray tea, and the teapot were perfect.
I think your asparagus soup looks marvelous What a nice treat that must have been. Water is always good, especially if the coffee pot isn't handy.
On thing that impressed me was the tower and the rusty machine equipment. I swear that one piece of machinery reminds me of a pencil and old fashioned pencil grinder
LOVE the water lilies. The pads have an unusual color. Gorgeous photos.
Thanks for sharing your art, your asparagus soup, your trip to the tower, and your water with us for tea this nearly Tuesday.
Your tag looks fantastic to me Valerie, very Retro I thought.
ReplyDeleteIts a gorgeous canvas, Watson had better look out his new head wear looks rather delicious.
Lunch with your friend also looks delicious and I did like her really pretty china cup and saucer.
Wonderful photos, its been so hot here as well that we've stayed in, out of the heat. I find I need shade these days, although you walked in a really beautiful areas and shared those beautiful photos.
Happy T day wishes Valerie.

I prefer the shade, too. I have picked the shadiest routes to get into town, too.

ReplyDeleteThat's a great tag and tea page. I like the purple-it's a color I don't jump to use but it does add some really nice pop to your page. And that is a funky museum. It looks really cool. I love watching movies, so your tag made a hit with me! I've never had asparagus soup, but I like asparagus and this looks tasty. I like the vintage cup. That shape and design is so appealing. What a fun place for a museum! I'd enjoy going through it, and your photos give a good sense of the scale of the thing. I'm not used to water towers that look like that. And the gardens! Lovely! You're kicking off T Tuesday in a big way :) Happy T Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteWonderful tag, the die cuts look amazing! I'm loving your canvas hybrid piece too, the vibrancy of the purple and green is perfect with the tea time images 😁. I enjoyed walking with you to see the sights and how lovely to spend lunch with your friend - yummy! Happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI love the waterlillies photos and your movie tag, Valerie!!!!! They are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteA great tag Valerie and there's certainly nothing desperate about it.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your walk by the water tower, the gardens look very beautiful.
Avril xx
I love the movies tag and I must say your hybrid page looks amazing! I love asparagus soup, although I have never made it myself! I love the walk you took although I would have been watching out for frogs near the water lilies!!Happy T Day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteLove that movie tag Valerie and delicious hat looks good enough to eat!! I love the warmth but really need shade, outdoor crafting is the best under a big parasol.
ReplyDeleteHugs for the week ahead and hope it cools down a little for you.
Tracey xx
Lovely art work, such a fun movie tag and the teapot and cupcake man! So cute! Beautiful photos of the water tower and gardens too. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful artwork, as always. I especially like the vibrant bluish purple color you used in the second piece. Your colors are always striking, but I think it's a certain sense of whimsy that finds its way into your work that I find most appealing.
ReplyDeleteTry to stay cool! I'm not a fan of this hot weather, either. Gave my friend and I a good excuse to go to an air-conditioned movie yesterday. ("Book Club." We laughed until we cried!)
Thinking of you.....
ReplyDeleteHugs
Fabulous project both of them and amazing photos!!
ReplyDeleteI think your movie tag is wonderful!! I love the beautiful background paper and the movie camera die cut!! Gorgeous photos also.
ReplyDeleteThat tag really speaks to the movies and I love it. And also your bowler guy, one of my favorite images you use. You and G do really fun things!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting around very late this week. Life got a bit crazy, but I'm catching up.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having very steamy weather too, Valerie. Too hot for crafting, sleeping, and especially cooking! Hoping for rain ...
For a desperate tag, you did a terrific job! Yuo must have die cuts for any occasion ;-)
Your cupcake hat for More Mixd Media (new challenge to me) is quite funny.
I love asgaragus - fresh, steamed, creamed ... any way at all.
You chose the perfect word for the water tower museum - funky. I agree. Beautiful photos.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
