New stamp

Hi Everybody!

This week has gone by much too quickly again. I am happy to say that we have had a few days of cooler weather after the extreme heat and storms, and I'm enjoying being able to breathe again.
Today I am sharing my new hand carvedstamp, an owl, about 5 1/2" high, which I stamped onto various designer papers. I am linking to Paint Party Friday:

Here the owl has been stamped with various colours of distress oxides:

The journal page was a play-time with stencils and sprays:

And some photos taken on my walks in the last 2 weeks:

This was in the corner of a rather bare parking lot:

The tiny chapel in Lantz'sche Park:

I discovered the used beer glasses down by the Rhine - clearing up the mess doesn't seem to be very popular:

The hay bale was blown into the river by the storms:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Your owl stamp is wonderful! It stamped beautifully! I love the journal page too - those runny inks on the legs are fabulous and give a great sense of movement! As ever I loved the walk around your area! The grassy walk through the trees looks lovely and of course the flowers are wonderful! Best of all was the visit to the chapel - those walls look amazing - are they very old? Enjoy the rest of your week! Chrisx

  2. What an INCREDIBLE new stamp. It looks like you doodled on the rubber as you carved away. Beautiful art and a FABULOUS stamp.

My favorite photo today is the one of the vignette in the bare corner parking lot. Someone has a great sense of humor.

  6. You owl stamp is amazing. The various color owls look like Warhowls! :-D Beautiful flowers on your walk. Loved the white hollyhocks. My cat, Mitty, liked to sit and hang out under their broad leaves. The colors of the stained glass and frescoes in the chapel are amazing. And that must have been some storm to blow that hale bale into the river.

  22. A really interesting post, Valerie, (loved the owls). The church scenes really grabbed my attention - given that I'm buried in a series of Pen & Ink of St David's Cathedral.

  25. I'm glad to hear your temperatures have cooled down a bit for you. Ours, too, but it's supposed to be back in the nineties by this weekend and all next week. (And it isn't even summer yet!)

Love your owls! Especially the ones in color. A co-worker from many years ago played with photography, and she developed portraits in different colors. It was amazing how the color changes changed the whole atmosphere of the same image. Your colors reminded me of her. Thanks. :)

The stained glass windows in that chapel are breathtaking. Heck, the whole interior is. Just beautiful.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
