More this and that:

Hi Everybody!

Here it's still hot and steamy, and no sign of it letting up yet. And it is not really the week to be having 2 dental operations either, but  I have to see it through and hope that things will soon get back to normal.
I made some more hand-carved stamps at my group and they are all I have to show this week for PPF.

The birds are about 4 1/2" high:

I made a cat like this many years back with a linocut, and decided to make a smaller one this time (3 1/2" across) so I can use it on cards etc:

Here I printed it onto some DP:

Some photos taken out and about here in the past weeks:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

  1. Lovely stampwork, and your photos are stunning, enjoyed the flowers.

  2. Hi Val, good morning! You are up very early. I'm just sitting enjoying a cuppa before I wake the kids and the madness of the day begins.... Love the new die-cuts. That cat has a magnificent grin, reminds me of Alice! The birds are gorgeous, too. Lovely photos, as always. Good luck with today, take care, and get plenty of rest! Hugs, Sarah

  3. Hi lovely lady, wow you have some beautiful photos today, love them and the vibrant colours. Lovely stamping, really artistic...x[aussie aNNie blog]

  4. Dental work is no fun, so I feel for you. I hope all goes well.

The birds are cute, but I really, really LOVE the cat. It speaks to me.

Great photos today, too. I especially like that small private garden in the last photo.

  5. Thinking of you with your dental ops Valerie, be brave!
Love your hand carved stamps, the Cat has such a cheeky grin rather like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland. Everything seems to be thriving in the heat but it’s good to have a rainy day to cool and refresh everything, hope it comes soon.
Take care & brave Hugs Tracey xx

  6. More brilliant hand made stamps Valerie and gorgeous flowers and photos.
Sorry to hear about the dental ops - hope its over soon.

  7. Hello dear Valerie!
    Oh,its so hot today,37c!
I don’t like dentists but be brave!
Love your birds and cat stamps, and your wonderful piece! Beautiful and vivid colors!
I really enjoyed all your stunning pictures with the beautiful Wisteria ,Lilacs and the cute ducks!
Wishing you a lovely day! Take care!

  8. More cool stamps Valerie. Question. How do you cut their overall shape so they aren't part of a block? Do you use a knife or scissors? You have been inspiring me to try some, but I don't quite know how to get the outer edges. The flowers are beautiful too. Hope you are having a wonderful day. Hugs-Erika

    1. I scrape away about quarter of an inch all round the object with one of the cutting tools, and then use sharp, small scissors to cut it out.

  9. You really have a gift for carving stamps I like. The birds are fabulous but so is the cat, and I love the different ways you have used them. They really pop on that paper.

As always your photos are fabulous. That wisteria makes my heart sing and I loved the Jubilate work on that building.

  10. Your stamps are amazing. Love the birds and especially the kitty face. The ducks and beautiful flowers don't seem to mind the hot weather. The garden with the gnome peeking out made me smile, too. Good luck with the dental surgery.

  11. OMG. Lilacs and ducks. Life is good:)
You had some beautiful photos today, as always. And I love, love, love the stamps.
    Take special care of yourself.

  12. Love your stamps!!!!! The birds are great but the cat is my FAVORITE♥♥♥♥ It's been hot and steamy here too but I've been pushing myself to get the garden planted. It's done and now to try and keep the weeds under control :)
Maybe things will slow down a bit now and I can get back to the T Party soon!!!

  13. OH !!!! I love all of those beautiful flowers too!!!!!!!!!

  14. I am so impressed with your handmade stamps! so awesome.
sorry it is still hot and steamy for you-getting back to that here too this week-makes it difficult to be outdoors.
I so enjoy your beautiful photos-keep em coming hugs Kathy

I hope all goes well with the dental work and that you are not in to much pain after the treatment and ops.
Todays photos look beautiful , lots of sunshine, blue skies and pretty flowers.
The heat is good but I don't think we are used to this weather for days at this time of the year.
    Take care of yourself
