Hi everybody!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Here in Rhineland we had sunshine, and the temps were a lot milder, so it looks like we will be having a few pleasant days.
This is another one of the Halloween she-art pieces I made last week. The background was painted, sprayed, and colour was added with pastels. I stamped some spiders' webs and bats. The witch is from the Gecko Galz collage sheet 'witchy women'. The frame around the witch is from Jessica Sporn's frames stencil.
At Moo Mania the theme this time is 'eyes', so I have put some eyes (Flonz crafts) and my text on a moo card. The witch, cat and hat are stamps from Close to my heart, and have been embossed with extra fine EP. I used less ink than usual on the witch, so she appears to be transparent. This was really just a bit of fun with left overs. I am linking to AJJ - she-art and Moo Mania - eyes.
Today I made the most of the good weather and went for a walk again, along the Rhine Damn, admiring the meadows and trees, and the ships and barges which are constantly passing up and down the river.
Then I spent some time climbing up to the top of the castle ruins, and admiring the wonderful view from the top - which in the old days was useful for watching for enemies and stopping ships to exert taxes....
This little motor boat was so quick that I only just caught it:
And as much as I like modern art, I think they could have found a better place for this piece than on the castle ruins....Perhaps he's supposed to be keeping guard.
And of course, there are dungeons....
But this was my fave pic today - somebody has added a graffiti to the public toilets opposite the church, making a smiling face - perhaps he was just happy to have found them on time. The light reflections are from the stained glass windows of the church.
Hope that you have enjoyed your tour today - I certainly did.
Have a great day, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by!
Wonderful photographs. Today it has been rather wet and dismal here, what we call a "dreich" day!
ReplyDeleteHow fabuolus this is but of course you know I will be singing that song all night long with some high leg kicks to go with it LOL (I am a sucker for songs before my time, this being one of them)
Wishes
Lynne
I had a friend back in the sixties who used to sing me that song - it didn't help him though!
LG Dagmar
Lovely new journal page, and I remember that song, too! Great photos, it looks so beautiful, and your weather was better than ours today! Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteValerie, I love your journal page and the dripping red! Such beautiful photos and what a lovely weather day! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour walk is so similar in terrain to mine..in that we can walk along the water. However, no power boats on our lake; only sail boats (rarely), row boats, canoes, kayaks, etc. That has to be the nicest graffiti I have ever seen! Love the journal page.
ReplyDeleteYour shew art is awesome, I love how you did the top of the page and all the images have such a great look all together like that. You are such a talented lady! ~Diane
ReplyDeleteYou love Halloween don't you? Nice work! Lovely photos, the weather looks great. The dungeon's scary.
ReplyDeleteAmazing walk again Valerie--must say the graffiti is brill and teamed with your sense of humour will have me smiling all day.
ReplyDeleteLove the journal page with the wonderful fancy edging and terrific embossing.
Have a wonderful day
Love Chrissie x

DeleteWow, your photos are gorgeous, you live in a beautiful place.) Thanks for sharing them... and also your Art Journal page is beautiful, it made me smile:) The witch is a pretty lady. Enjoy the rest of the day, Shirleyx
ReplyDeleteAnother witch with attitude, the page looks so mystical, and I am now humming that tune. the photo look amazing, it looks a wonderful place to enjoy walking.

Superb Halloween page, Valerie. Is she a "Good" witch, or maybe it's a disguise? I love the spider and your Moo card together. Thanks for the lovely walk, it's always nice to walk alongside a river. It's been very mild here today and yesterday too.
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Valerie. I love your Artwork, especially the black cat. What fabulous pictures and clear blue skies too. I'm in love with the little red hat in the last post. Was it knitted by any chance. Hugs from Scotland. Rita xxxx
