Happy weekend!

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a  peaceful and restful weekend.

I had a busy week, and I am tired, so my weekend post is a mix of David Zinn's, Funnies, Thinkies and a strange face i made last week:

David Zinn:

I woke up to rainy weather this morning:

More from DZ:

Pickles is always good, too:

David Z:

Pickles again:

This strange piece is perhaps not quite as silly as it looks at first glance. I doodled this rather different face and then scribbled her hair. I put lots of thoughts into her head, I think we all have lots of random thoughts and ideas swimming around. And there are some patches on her face and neck. Does she feel hurt? Is she perhaps trying to conceal something? There's a piece of gauze glued over her mouth. Is there something that she can't or won't say? But there are some stars in her eyes - dreams? hopes?
What are your ideas?

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Friday faces and fun

Hi Everybody!

Today I am showing faces which I put onto tags in the past few years. I am linking to Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFF.

This is a distant cousin of my Mother, Erika. I met her as an od lady when I was working in an old people's home here in Düssedorf:

And another visit to the past - my mum and her Uncle Benny with his wife at their wedding:

Sorry, not much talk-talk, my internet is very bad today so I want to get this posted before it get's worse!

Have a great Thursday / Friday, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Tag Tuesday - Summer holiday!

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our theme is 'summer holiday', and I have the honour of hosting. First of all I would like to thank our lovely Michele, who made such beautiful tags for her fabulous Celestial challenge over the past 2 weeks. And of course, BIG thanks to Sandie, who keeps the blog going and is also updating the blog, which was sorely necessary .

My favourite place to go on holiday in summer is, of course by the sea:

It's lovely to dive into the water and relax. The starfish is one I brought back from a holiday many years ago:

And I love to see lighthouses:

And I love watching boats or going for a harbour trip or out to an island:

And no, this is not a photo of me:

Some might prefer to go to the country or to a farm, to enjoy the simple life. I did this once - the toilet was in the middle of a muddy field and had 3 seats, so no one had to venture out alone....Never again!

The seaside is better!

Paris is always worth a holiday visit, and the food is great:

Next week I will back to show my very, very, very favourite holiday places!

Tags of all sizes and shapes are welcome at Tag Tuesday, so hope to see lots of you joining in! Have fun!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Recently a neighbour gave me a pile of used canvases, which I am using just now. This one was first grounded with blue acrylics  and then textured with a stencil. I added book paper scraps, odds and ends of gold and pink gauze, some metallic flakes and a little square left over from another project. The white spiral is now blue! I had fun painting with different  colours , including some with metallics and some glitter - such fun! At the end I added a few gold dots. And I'm happy to say I like it. This is a box canvas, 9 x 12 inches:

And some thinkies and funnies:

Oh dear, I nearly forgot this one!

I have another journal page for Halle's 'I've got a Notion' challenge at AJJ.  This was made with recycled cardboard, some napkin scraps, and a few bits and bobs out of my bit-box. I sewed around the edges, and sewed on a scrap of lace at the bottom. Then I stenciled some dots and pasted a piece of transparent gauze over them:

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
