Thursday-Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

I'm happy to say that the worst of the heat is over. It's rather stormy just now, but that's okay. It's just so terrible that in other countries there are so many catastrophes, with the earthquakes in Marocco and terrible floods in Libya. My heart goes out to all that are affected and I hope they get the help they need.

This week I painted a picture with sunflowers (my version!) and a blue background. I made the background rough and 'broken' to show the situation there:

These quick collages were part of the course #LouiseFletcher made. We had a list of things we had to include in our work. I made 4 collages, which took less than ten minutes each. It was interesting to work like this, but not really something I will make too often:

And a selection of faces for Nicole's FFO:

This is one of my fave collages:

I am also linking to Gillena's AFFF.

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

T sTands for Coffee and more!

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It was very hot here, too hot for me these days, so I stayed home, did a lot of reading, drank lots of cool drinks and played in my art kitchen. It's hot in here, too, but doing nice things helps to take my mind off the heat. Tomorrow should be the last of the big heat, and then it will hopefully be back to normal, whatever that might be.... I also have some sort of allergy just now, so I'm itching, sneezing and coughing, nice. At least life isn't boring!

This week I painted an A3 piece with acrylics which will cover Elle's Books, cats and tea challenge at AJJ and  be my ticket for Elizabeth's TsfT drink party, which starts this evening. So here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit here.

Here the kitties are sitting side by side watching the live bird programme outside the window, and they have a delicous catnip tea to drink when they get thirsty. I was inspired by a picture on FB, where the kitties were made with flat pebbles:

I'm sorry I can't write much bla-bla, My health problems are not getting better, and this means my posts are mostly shorter and fewer  - did somebody say, 'Thank God' ??
Whatever!

Have a great, new week, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post - Cats, a hat and monkey-business

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a great weekend!
I have been busy this week doing various art lessons, and although some of them are things I would not usually do, it was fun. I made this page some time last week, I think the page background was a lesson from Wanderlust, but I can't really remember, I did so many different things and have mixed and muddled again!

We started off by dividing up an A3 page using painters' tape round the edges and through the middle,, and then further dividing each half with thin washi tape. We used oil pastels and water colour pencils to colour the background, smearing it with water, and then adding some scribbles. then I gave it all a very thin coat of diluted white acrylic. I decided to do a different theme for each side. On the right side I used stencils to paint the monkeys and dots, and then gave one of the monkeys a hat - which isn't visible here, as it was a last minute idea.

I will show the other half another time. I am linking to Elle's  cats, books and tea challenge again.

And this is the 2nd Tag for Pinky's animals challenge at Tag Tuesday:

A few photos taken early this morning before it heated up:

Have a great weekend, take care,
