Midweek post

Hi Everybody!

It's the middle of the week already - time flies. I got some good news today, I can go home in 2 weeks,  I feel like I have been here forever. Soon I wil be back in my own, messy, arty kitchen!

Today I have another piece to share for Alison's.'play it again, Sam' challenge at AJJ. It is an A3 piece painted with acrylics and acrylic pens for the myriad of dots. I am calling it 'Starry, starry night', and thinking of Vincent van Gogh as well as the song starry, starry night from Don McLean. The words on the tree mean 'Tree of life'

The weather here is wild, wet and windy, so I'm showing some pics from this day 2016:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T sTands for Tuesday on Monday

Hi Eveybody!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend, and I wish us all a safe and happy week. Today I have another journal page for Alison's 'play it again, Sam'  challenge at AJJ.  My page was made using a first day of issue envelope and stamps to honour Laurel and Hardy. I loved their films as a child. I placed the envelope onto a stenciled background. The pictures right and left were drawn by me and cut out:

This evening we will be starting a new chalenge at Tag Tuesday. Thanks to Wendy for hosting the last challenge and to all who joined in.  My theme is green and blue. You can use just one of the colours, or both. Other colours are okay but blue/green should be predominant. The image is from Gecko Galz:

And this evening we are also celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so  here  warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit.
I went to a cafe with a friend last week, and we enjoyed coffee (decaf for me!) and cake:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post - 2nd on the 2nd and more

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy!  Today I have another piece for Alisons challenge at AJJ. This is a hybrid piece, with a painted background, a badly printed out image of John and Yoko,  photos of my balcony blackbird and sunflowers, and some digital butterflies and flowers, all digitally assembled in my graphics programme. The image of John and Yoko was printed onto book paper and the ink in the printer was nearly used up, which made the stripes. Then I decided to call it distressed and leave it as it is!

For Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd I have some of my van Gogh knock-offs:

And some spring photos:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New challenge at Art Journal Journey

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well . Today we are starting a  new month and a new challenge at Art Journal Journey and this time the talented Alison aka Craftytrog is hosting with the theme of 'play it again, Sam'. She wants us to make pages based on /inspired by our favourite films or songs. You can read more on the AJJ blog and see Alison's beautiful page.

I enjoyed my month hosting and want to thank all those who made such beautiful  spring journal art.

My A3 page painted with acrylics is inspired by the 'Angry Birds' movie. The bird I have depicted is a new resident here in Balconia-by-the-Rhine, and might well have escaped from the film set. It is large and noisy and enjoys hiding behind tree trunks and then scaring other birds, animals and people with it's loud, cackling 'Ha-ha-ha! I am calling on dear David to identify the bird:

A few photos and funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
